Look I agree he was on the back foot, more so he was slower therefore it was looking bad but I didn't think whilst he was dominated he wasn't copping many big ones to the head unless I missed so many.

1st night of the WC, 1st game koff soon, hosts Russia vsing Saudi's.
Not a brilliant curtain raiser but never know could be alright.
    31days to go.

Channel surfing back to the US Open golf, do like this game very much.
Shinicock Hills course, links style tuff set up, glad instead of those perfect usual US course's.
We have up to 9 Aussies in it, notable players my fav Jason Day, Mark Leishman could score very well, Adam Scott, hope he gets into rhythm.

Wow, what a flooging 1st game in front of the world for the Saudi's.
Russia is pretty ordinary to say the least but to be pumped 5zip Saudi's have 2 games to restore some pride I guess.
They were unfit surprisingly but they can play some football but their shape/team organisation was lacking for the time they had preparing for this.

Well I expect most would have heard the socceroos result.
Were a minnow in this game and the heroics done by our 06 squad was epic but since then we have gone backwards due to many things and the development of other nations but it is what it is.
Some would have thought having our own coach step down after the longest route to qualify was the worst to ever happen at that stage BUT in some ways it was a blessing in disguise.
Having brought in a experienced Dutch coach who has done well in the past in the World Cup and helped Saudi qualify as well with only a month or so together to prepare for this French game we did bloody well I tell you.
I was feeling the worst tbh but to play against one of the favourites with a class outfit ranked 7th in the world our boys stood tall and made them work hard for every yard.
The French squad is ranked 1 in value 940M ponds ! to ours 43.6M lbs.

Walking off 2-1 down I was actually thinking what might have been for we deserved a 1-1 draw from that game.
2 errors allowed those goals against us and thats it.
We have to get a result/s from the next 2 games and results going our way to get through the Group stage where just 2 of the 4 make it.
It was exciting watching and 10 odd people at my place Sat night were on the edge of our seats.
The reigning Champs Germany lost to Mexico.
    Argentina drew.
    Brazil drew - another favourite.
    Love this comp its huge.
