I bet it would be nice to beat that Mini.
Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional!
Off to a Sandown for sprints this Sunday, hopefully the weather stays dry.

History is a statement, the future is a question.
I unfortunately didn't make it to Sandown, I was sick as a dog all Saturday night thanks to a big bout of gastro. Dad went and managed to do a head gasket in the Mini in his first session, so not a good racing weekend. I was devastated yesterday not able to race and felt sorry for myself watching the V8's on TV on the couch all afternoon, at least Frosty won... I'm off to Broadford for the hill climb in 2 weeks time, I will make sure I get some more in car footage.
Has anyone got any advice regarding cam choice? If the tax man looks after me next month I'm looking at a tune and cam and possibly head work. I want a cam to suit track work, so drivability and road manners isn't a priority.
Off to the Broadford hill climb this Sunday, not even sickness will stop me this time!

Yesterday was a very colourful day which included axle tramp like I have never experienced before which must be addressed, there was also quite a loud metallic sounding thump from the rear end on one launch which I can't track down, it was the last thing I wanted to hear at the start of a run, will try to track down the source next week. After the first run with the mega tramp I idled off the line for the remaining runs which didn't help times. The diff is brand new and has done less than 2,000km's, anyone got any ideas?
I had one big moment for the day, at the exit of the final corner the rear end slid out, I corrected it, well I should say over corrected it which led to a massive tank slapper and a 360 degree spin onto the grass and almost into a bank. It was a hit to my ego that I didn't control the first slide, but my Dad and mates thought it was the funniest thing they've ever seen, wait till you see the in car footage! It would have been a cracker of a run too, I wasn't a happy camper after that. I really struggled trying to get any grip out of the cold RE55 semi slicks all day as you will see in the videos.
In my class, I ended up 6th out of 11 or 12 cars which i'm pretty happy with, The AU's scalps included a neat little Honda CRX, A BMW, and a VK V8 Commodore.
