Next part of the touch up finished today. Wife has been chasing a set of side steps for ages. Found a set on eBay. Got Ford to install while they did the ball joint recall. All went to plan and pretty happy with it.

As usual something has to happen. Started Terri up on the weekend and the recurring catalytic converter problem reared its ugly head. Have had to repair this a few times already. No more repairs this time and order a new one from Melbourne. Was a couple of hundred cheaper than local suppliers and a third of the price from Ford. I like supporting the local but this is pushing the friendship too far. So that should go in at the beginning of next week. Then it's back to the painters in June to finish off the rust repairs.

Territory back for the painters. Rust has been dealt with as good as can be expected. We have fish oiled all the gaps and this should keep it Ok for the short term. Happy with the result as she looks like brand new. More importantly the wife is happy.

Interior is finished. New mats and leather shifter have been the final touches. The side steps really made a huge difference to the look of the car. Green beast will be with us for a few more years then I am looking to trade up. Hopefully Ford will have something waiting for me!

Thanks guys. The wife is very happy with the result. For the little amount of work I have turned the Territory right around. So we ended up doing new interior, replace REX entertainment system, side steps, paint and rust repair, and other sundry parts replacements. Cost weren't too bad either. Parts totalled about $3200, paint was about $800, and the side step install was $150. So for just over $4000 the Territory was given a complete make over. As stated should be right for a couple more years now. More importantly has taken off the heat about a few mods on the XR8.

All good things must come to an end. After a number of good years it's time for the Territory to go. My wife looked at a number of vehicles including the new diesel Territory. Sad to say that the replacement car will not have a blue oval on the front. Thursday it goes and we welcome a new diesel Jeep Grand Cheorokee.

Yes I know. The Jeep was a good package and pricing very sharp. My wife liked the new Territory but commented that it didn't feel like a new model when the interior and a lot of the exterior was not very different. I was hoping that Ford was going to bring the new Explorer over here or announce a new Territory whilst we were looking. Hopefully next car we can get back into the Ford stable. Till then still have the XR8 and will be still getting the new Ranger later in the year.
