All u have to do is watch 4wd tv, the disappointed thing is they drive Colorados, don't see to many other brands on it. But still all these duel cabs are very capable off roadies. Diesel or petrol doesn't matter,
Anyone see Ford Everest won 4wd car of the year.

Are these cars stock or have they been modified?

Mr Forbes, I loved seeing that TG episode with the Raptor and Jeremy ripping up that snowed mountain, it sounded porn and the powa ! awesum rig.
Mind you Cap Slow in the Chev did very well also.
What Mr Forbes is alluding to is that this market is huge - yes modified VZTRT, in the guise of camping accessories, winch's, lights, minor lifts for eg, some can be left stock as if inclined.
Norm, seriously, the validation of a min 50mm lift offering wouldn't be too hard to be done, with these later versions having SC/ABS etcetc can easily be calibrated to suit and now its known many can only take 30mm due to front mini strut travel restrictions.
At these known recommended heights there hasn't been any problems for donkeys years - its the cowboys who have gone OTT with 4" - 6" lifts ! but this was all originated from the US market (Baja style), a different kettle of fish but don't you think that IF there were major legal issues at hand the US lawyers would be having a field day.

2 major Aftermarket companies ie ARB TJM do dealer fit outs in good numbers from brand new, they are not going to risk their name doing shonky or offering second rate product, ARB especially incl the dealers making sure they are with reputable companies.
Fitting out 4x4's for the camper/caravan market is huge, caravan (Jayco for eg)/4x4trailor suppliers have engineered IRS chassis nowadays and the sales are astounding, its not just the tradies but retirees/families - a trade pack, a performance model/s would be good offerings by the OE's, ala Raptor styles to other nominated names to suit.
YNWA ! off to CL 2018.

Maurie, if you raise the vehicle you raise the centre of gravity of the vehicle and increase the sidewall of the tyre you greatly impact the high speed rollover stability of the vehicle not to mention completely mess with the ABS and DSC of the vehicle.

All that does is take the vehicle further away from the OEM validation standards not closer.

You know they have a mine specific ranger. A modufied off road ranger would be more viable then putting a motor that doesnt fit in there.

Norm, where did I say that it was close to OEM, I'm saying OEM can do the job and offer something similar from the showroom floor.

On your first sentence, blahblahblah, nanny, where have you heard of major accidents occurring due to minor/50mm lift 4x4 mods the last 20yrs for eg ?

Accidents occur due to driver error more than anything else, just as lowered cars, it not the product its the driver.
If it was that bad it would be banned and I would support that.
Look, you should make more of a point about your stoopid state not having yearly road worthies.
I'm not going to bother carrying on here for its a waste of my time .

Instead of autodefense of the aftermarket understand the topic AftermarketMan!!!

Its about the ability of a car manufacturer to be able to offer a vehicle in a modified state not weather some cowboy in a lifted Lux doesn't fall over on a bend...
