    its appears that way.

in the interest of the sport, supercars official need to come clean. the decision will not change the outcome. Jamie will still be the 2017 champ, but it will go along way in help fans understand the procedure and help officials putting a system in place so this circus act does not happen again.

3rd umpire video review will be something along the lines of.

    1) car 17 has run wide on corner 1.
    2) check for contact or assistants from car 888
    3) no contact between car 17 and 888 into corner one.
    3) car 17 moves across to cover which is perfectly legal on the last lap.
    4) car 17 leaves enough racing room ie. one car length width
    5) car 888 appears to turn into rear panel of car 17.
    6) can we have inside vision of both cars 17 and 888
    7) car 888 is heading into the misalignment concrete barrier.

    etc.

I think it goes the other way.

Think of it as car 17 is you and SCs are the cops.

What you think you are doing doesnít matter but you can take it to court. When you do, you basically have to challenge their device, the way itís used, calibration, anything around that area.

I think DJR need to go in with a theory in why the time over distance has failed them.

This must work on the assumption that no other team or driver altered their pit lane procedure.

Can you remember when kerb strike sensor stuffed up and people were getting incorrect penalties.

The weight of numbers made it an obvious failure. Intermittent or specific to a team isnít normally a system trait or error.

This is a weird. I actually canít see how either is wrong but one is.

Their system has located the car incorrectly, itís the only way and while I could see a car speed reading out, not by this amount. Scott was seriously slow at one point. Itís really hard to see how he gets pinged but regardless, the penalty doesnít fit the crime.

Fine the driver, fine the team on such an occasion where they check the video and can see the car was under control over the line.

Where was the harm here, where was the advantage?

The penalty of a PLDT for basically a 1-2kmh advantage over a distance of 5lm is ridiculous when you consider drivers get 2 warnings before a penalty for cutting the corners on circuits.

The Penalty to crime to appeal balance is completely out of wack.

You get the same penalty for putting someone into a wall.

I guess spewing in the pit lane is seen as an advantage. But 15sec added to the next pit stop or end of race would probably be more appropriate....but then again people would complain if somone wins with a 15 second advantage....which they would would have won anyway.

Speeding at pit entry 5s penalty and fine the driver.
Speeding IN pit lane drive through and fine the driver.

Don't forget the speed limit is to protect pit crews.

This is right. It’s a safety issue for those working in pit lane. This five meters is effectively a control before you get to the first pit bay but also around where the medical or safety car can be.

I wonder if the sensor is under that painted line or before it or after it.

Do they stay in a street circuit like Newcastle or are they removed?
