Well unless it's a specific software issue to iPhone, I can tell you the latest iPad iOS still has it.

And I must have been the only person to not know of it.

This forum brought it to a head when I got called out on spelling that auto correct changed.

I replied blame it on Apple, to which I got a screen shot showing his apple wasn't doing it.

I repeated and got the same result. When I tried it again I got what he did, difference was the charger was off.

My iPad battery is stuffed so it lives on a charger. That makes contributing here a task.

Apples attitude to battery replacement is a disgrace, so and for the last time I suspect I purchased a brand new iPad making it my 3rd personal.

On a phone, you aren't walking around charging it so I guess that side is negated somewhat but the entire experience has left me very cold in Apple once more.

The Nokia 8 is receiving good reviews. It doesn't come with the bloatware of Samsung so potentially updates should be better.

899 from Harvey and they will have it. JB are at 899 pre order and Kogans haven't listed it.

Samsung 8 is also 899 from Kogan.

iPhones still dearer in all those places.

Of the phones I touched Samsung G8 felt nice, but I really suspect it won't stand well to being dropped.

Yeah my phone used to lock on a letter as i typed while charging, new one doesn't do it. Neither do any of the ipads (7 of them) at home.

So which samsung 8 is being listed at $1399 starting price?

Or are there different versions of the 8?

I think there are just like iphone and plus.

What you have said either 5 or 7 ipads at home cant be right.

One of those must be the same hardware I have and assuming the ios is up-to-date, given its a know issue, it must do it.

Or are you saying apples quality control is so bad its hit or miss as to which products suffer from this?

    Ok.

    On Ipads:

    I've got:

    1 x original iPad.
    1 x iPad 2.
    1 x iPad 3.
    1 x iPad Mini.
    2 x iPad Air.

    Sorry its 6 in total.

None of them to my knowledge lock up when charging, the kids have the airs, they use them charging.

Mine is the 3, its fine, so is the mini.

The 1 and 2 i cant be 100% but don't remember anything going on.

    On Phones 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 6s and 7+.

ONLY one that locked up when charging was the 5s and "i think" the 6 on ISO 9.

Yeah I think what you will find is it matters how much charge is already there.

Fact is there is a charging issue where it becomes unresponsive, once I discovered it, googled it, it's documented.

I have that issue. To start with people reckon it's the charger. Not using the correct charger for the device.

That potentially was my problem as I was using the one charger for all apple products.

Found the iPad charger and sure enough the issue was resolved for a period of time.

It is back now. It's not bad if it's charging from greater than 70 percent.

If the battery has gone down to 5 and you start charging, that is when it plays up.

We do indeed share the same iPad. They will both have the same version of ISO. I suspect the difference is the battery condition.

If there were an hour counter on each device I strongly suspect mine has been used way more than yours.

When it's charging and being used, the heat being generated is a concern on both the charger end and the iPad end.
There is greater resistance than what there probably should be.

Which brings me to apples attitude on replacement batteries.

Not good enough for what you pay.

Apple do not enjoy an advantage that justifies the price premium for me.

With in minutes of each other fb news feed dished up three articles on iPhones.

One article was of an exploding iPhone that gave its owner 3rd degree burns.

The other article was essentially about brand loyalty written by a Apple loyalist.

Forget how many people were surveyed but between 1000-2000.

They were asked questions such as how many iPhones had they owned.

Some data revealed 4 while the author inserted some comedy about if they were 4 models or 4 phones due to breakage not being defined.

Stuff like $1000 being seen as too expense by 67% of those surveyed but yet 40% plan to get the new phone when it comes out.

Factors like being too used to iOS to entertain change right through to effectively have a user experience that's satisfactory to not require change.

It's a club but then it all got too hard and it was time to hit the highway.

Samsung galaxy 8 felt very nice but perhaps wasn't confident inspiring if it were to be dropped.

Will go back when the 8 arrives.
JB HiFi have the 8 in stock for $899
    Looks impressive on paper
