Getting back on topic, re the GTF, if it is or not doesn't matter to me BUT I think they should have called up Colville for livery HELP/guidance, I can't believe a nice premium product such as Bilstein approves something as presented.
That looks hideous/crap, for one of our last of FPV's being dressed as such is very disappointing but its their dollars, billys woeful marketing dept.
Good luck to them anyway, hope they do well.
YNWA ! off to CL 2018.

Is it really a gtf? Or is it like the 'sprint' that's an xr8 made up with sprint parts.

After a complicated lead-up, the #67 JMG/iSeek/Bilstein of Jeremy Gray and Jason Gomersall is on-track and ready to run at the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour – which doubles as round one of the 2017 APC.

Car owner and driver Gray explains that the A1 entry, also supported by Australian Transmission Components and Big Mate, was only finished four days ago.

“We were let down by certain things in the lead up, all kinds of issues beyond our control,” Gray said.

“Things like an engine tune – we had a Motec system in the car and the tuner couldn’t get that to work properly so we have had to put the standard ECU back in it after we blew an engine up late last week.

“So, we have put the standard ECU back in it and we then found that it had a speed limiter on it on the dyno just three days ago and no one in Australia could figure it out but our guys here have managed a way, and it is going pretty good at the moment.

“I think our aim for this car is just to circulate, it is not at the level that I would like it speed-wise, so if we could just circulate and really baby the car we are going to be there in the end, definitely.”

While things haven’t been easy so far for the team, the car’s straight line speed is encouraging against its A1 rivals.

“After (Friday practice) there is definitely the straight-line speed against the little Mercedes and the Focuses and stuff like that,” Gray said.

“Obviously the Sherrin BMW is very fast in a straight line but in saying that, it is probably an unproven car as well.

“As I said, we will stick to our plan, we won’t get carried away off the start and just pull back and just try and finish the race this year and come back bigger and better next year.”

The car has been built for Gray by Sieders Racing, and for Gray fulfils a wish to return to his roots.

“I started off my racing career in production cars and then went to V8 Utes for a while and I have always wanted to get back to the roots of where I started,” Gray said.

“I was seeing a lot of Japanese and European car coming in and seeing the Aussie muscle cars sort of being fazed out and I thought, ‘nup, I am going to build one, I know it is not going to be the fastest but it is going to be a lot of fun to drive and have a lot of straight line speed’.

“It is going all right for a car that has only been finished for (four) days now, and if we get through the weekend that will be a fantastic achievement.”

While unsure of future plans for the car, Gray didn’t rule out a return to future APC events.

“I am not sure about future APC rounds, there is a lot of development to go, we will just have to wait and see,” Gray said.

The Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour action continues today with practice at 7.40am and qualifying at 12.50pm (bottom 50%) and 1.30pm (top 50%).

Does anyone know if this is being streamed at all, or shown on TV live - or is it only the speedweek package shown sometime in the future?

Qualified P11 for tomorrow's race, only 2 seconds off the lead M4 BMW and 3 seconds ahead of Chaz's Focus RS.

Great effort for a brand new race car that's had no development and first turned a wheel yesterday.

Impressive times out a GTF falcon with little to no development times. From the qualifying lap times, they have improved close to 3 seconds from friday times.
