There is something very odd about all those times.

The 8 second rule of thumb is a very crude one. The more grunt you have the more the rule doesn't work.

A brief look at a table Norm posted on my fb revealed most cars ,if not all cars, were way faster than this rule in the back end of the quarter.

    The W1 was what 5.9 for a 12.4 at 194ish?

Normally something with a 12 in it needs a 4 in the 0-100.

6.5ish to get from 100 to 194 is impressive.

What they were doing in the 100 I have no idea. It suggests if you get the 0-100 right, a high 10 is on and that's bulshit.
Let's say Norm tested the W1 he will equal the 4.6 of the sprint 8 at worst and if you replicate the rest of the run of caradvice, he is on track for 11.3 ish.

    I don't think that's possible.

We didn't like it when people questioned our Sprint performance and admittedly we didn't do quarter timing but the times for all cars are a little hard to understanding.

I don't see how you can give away such bad starts and fly home like all the cars seem to have done.
History is a statement, the future is a question.

Compare the M3 competition to the W1 times. Both rear wheel cars

    M3 0-100 km/h 5.102 sec
    W1 0-100 km/h 5.972 sec

    M3 0.87 sec quicker

    M3 0-400m 12.225 sec
    W1 0-400m 12.450 sec

    M3 0.225 sec quicker

Now trap speed at end of quarter

    M3 193.079 km/h
    W1 194.227 km/h

    W1 1.148 km/h faster.

How can you be close to 1 second slower (0.87 sec to be exact) to 100km/h yet only be 0.225 secs slower over the quarter while having similar trap speeds?

Something is not right?? Over to you Norm

If the W1 cannot put the power to the ground with the "Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R* track tyres that help deliver incredible traction", wonder what it will do with some standard street Dunlop tyres as used on the FPV cars.

It's not right. It's just not possible. The W1 has recorded an astonishing back end.

It's like they haven't measured to 100kph correctly if you ignore the GTR.

The 12.4 is believable but not after 6 seconds to 100. If it were to 110 it might make more sense.

It's impossible to have those ETs with such slow 0-100's

Guys, Justin answers all this over on Jeff's FB page, quite wonderfully. You can either go over there OR Norm or I could cut and paste it over to here. I'm not up with the politics of doing such a thing as that and would hate to get anyone offside. HSE can say if he wants that done - it is just such a good take from justin I'm sure everyone here would like to read it.

The 400m ET's and Terminal speeds for the W1 and RS are close to what we'd expect.

Taking the W1, for it to get a 12.4@ 194kph it would need to be going 0-100 in approx 4.4 seconds.

5.9 sec 0-100 should have netted aproximately 13.9 sec 400m.

My guess is they tested 400m using the drag strip timing equipment at the drag strip and did the 0-100 useing VBox in a different location, most likely a very wet road....
