I have hated that asshole since he robbed Lowndsey of a championship back in the day...

But i can be a bigger man and today was a rude awakening !

I was told a Nissan won as I walked back into the room just before I heard the jubilant driver rejoicing over the team radio so I thought well done Simona, superb effort. Then I realised it was Rick. Well done Rick.
McLaughlin knows how to launch a car and keep it in front. True winner, reminds me of Whincup’s dominance but somehow seems a little more likeable. Luck got in his way today. Nice to see Fabian up there as well but during the broadcast he said he knows this circuit pretty well so I hope that had nothing to do with his form.
Waiting for the other Ford team to find something. They need to hang in there because if they can turn it around they still have a chance. That would be good for Scott as well, as a larger pool of players at the pointy end vying for a top 5 means less of a chance for his closest rivals to catch him. Amazing the difference in tyre degradation between this and the last circuit. Don’t understand it.

Great effort today by DJRTP. Shame about the start from Scotty but great tactics to get him back on the podium. Not a fan of SVG but geez he drove the pants off that Commodore today. Highlight for me was Larko and his tech reports again. Loved how he broke down the Reynolds issue.

Great result for Fabs and nice recovery from Scotty, overall with a round in hand from P3 down in the championship we're sitting pretty strong. SVG will need to up the consistency to close the gap to Scott and we've still got a few Falcon friendly tracks to hit before the ZB aero will again swing momentum back the other way. T8 typically come on strong after the mid season break too so theres a long way to go.

Nice to see the Shell lockout of the front row in both races.

Scott and Fab had the pace over the whole field.

They both still seem to have problems getting away from the line though.

That said all in all a great result for the team.

I see today both Scott and Fab talking clutches and the idiosyncrasies of them.

Fab changed clutches over night as he didn't like the feel of the one he had on saturday.

They put an old one back in that he preferred over the new one.

Scott said his clutch didnt take up well in yesterday's race too.

yer well in the end good end results for DJR and SMac importantly and that T8 struggled (normally at winton) but SVG recovered to be amongst good points overall.
Thankfully JW is further back but a long way to go yet.

I'm baffled by Tickford's results to date (yes I know rubber change etc) but look forward to those closer to the team saying their peace......
OK can't help a drive shaft failure x 2 Sat/Sun for Cam - supplier issue expected so but were all in the same pool right ?
DJR keep pressing at the pointy end so what is it with Ticky ?
I know TE reacted late in the broadcast that Stanna was flying last 10laps incl Chaz of Race 14 (infact I think quoted fastest on the track) but hearing that to me its, TE thats great BUT thats too late being so far back in the first place.
Winton is the home track for you in the first place I would expect so !
OK forgetting driver issues on the track that occur by x driver, like SVG Frosty Saturday etcetc.....
IF DJR have got their set up better whats going on once again at Ticky ?
Chaz is fast, Cam and Stanna are as well but they just keep falling over.
As the Championship standings are :
    CM 11 - 501 points behind SMac in P1.
    Frosty 13
    CW 17
    Stanna 24 !

I feel the team is constantly playing catch up where as at least 1 or 2 FGX's should be up there just as much as DR/Erebus at least, a one car team with far less budget.
Is Ludo that much better to understand set up and interpretations from his lead driver than what Ticky have got with all their years of experience ?

I know some will come back with some very logical answers But as we all know just like your job its performance driven.
Yes they are that close I'm sure but they are not as well for look where they stand with 4 cars.
Its dis heartening for me being they are my No1 Ford pref and I keep seeing a similar pattern evolve over the years.
YNWA ! off to CL 2018.

At a guess Maurie I would say they are having some engineering direction issues, which comes down to who is responsible in the team for providing this. Ian has also alluded to them being down in the engine department compared to the leading teams. Combine the two and it wouldnt take much to see them fall down the order given the level of competition.

They have four very talented fast drivers there, all capable of winning races with the possible exception of Richie Stanaway who's in his rookie year, but even then I suspect he is alot more capable than the recent results tend to indicate. This must be extremely frustrating for all of them and its starting to show. I watched Chaz's post race pod cast yesterday which went for all of 10 seconds, him obviously being tired of making excuses. As a team they are better than this but I suspect the difference to them challenging for the lead or battling in the mid pack is much smaller than we all think. I dont envy Tim at the moment but they will get on top of it eventually. Hopefully for the enduros.
