I think for the weight of the cars 6-650hp is about right.

NASCAR has pulled their engines back to 550hp on larger tracks to curb excessive performance.

Where do I start with all that.
History is a statement, the future is a question.

No words really. Watched it live and couldn't figure out how is race control knew they wanted to bunch the group up to figure everything out then

    1. Why let Whincup immediately come through to pick him up?
    2. If they were not 100% sure why not get another lap to make it certain?
    3. Immediately send Whincup to back of pack.
    4. Reset rest of field to correct order before recommencing?

Keeping the race going when they knew it was wrong was madness. Also didn't like the post race commentary where everyone was just trying to create more drama with quoting everyone's reaction to others. Just seemed as though a few in particular wanted to get emotions up to finish the broadcast.

Shit look for the race. Nice that Scotty won, but really feel for Tickford. They deserved better.

I was quick to blame Supercars but it appears Jamie not following the rules started the chain of events that created the chaos. That said, as Glenn highlighted they should have taken the opportunity to reorder the field rather than just mitigating the impact.

In the end it's not an impudent driver or insolent team owner who declares which is the lead car, race control must be allowed to make the call. They have systems in place to assist with this, and a driver took action of his own accord and then complained on the radio to his team who then asked race control to "fix" an error wholly and solely caused by their driver.

What should have happened next was an investigation into why Whincup was where he was, rather than a knee jerk to try and fix it. Rather than waving holdsworth et al through, time should have been taken to figure out what occurred and to meter out the correct resolution - punish Jamie.

Once other cars were waved through it was too late. Pressure should not have been applied by 888 to hastily rectify a problem born out of their own drivers stupidity.

The first failure was Whincups brain fart. The 2nd failure was race control listening to 888 whinge rather than sorting things out correctly in a considered manner.

Take out the actions of the former, and you don't end up with errors from the latter.

All boils down to lack of processes and allowing themselves to be influenced and rushed

The S/C should have stayed out until they could sort the mess out once and for all, or suspend the race and re-grid the cars for a rolling start in correct order.
