The aftermarket you say has this covered extensively, well again there has been considerable effort to set a clear line of distinction between what they have been doing and what they should have been doing and really no punches have been pulled there.
I know that some components of HG will be sold ongoing.

I completely understand what their offer and USP is.

My point is i'd like to see that OE philosophy applied to current showroom products, for customers purchasing new products, with the focus now shifted in that direction, not on retired products.

E.g: an OEM level Supercharger package for Mustang.
My Falcon family heritage: XY V8 Falcon 500, XYGT, XBGT, XC 351 GS, XD 4.1 Spack, EF wagon, AU Wagon, AU2 Wagon, AU2 XR8, BA XR8, BF XR8, FG XR6, Lucky last: Sprint 8. Oh wait, AU3 XLS Marlin Ute!

Mustang I think you can put in the turbo basket. Similar mindset and values
The question here is more about, if you are going to continue to offer enhancements to falcon for a period of time, are two options sufficient for volume and attraction or do you need more?

The product or case for Mustang would seemingly be similar to what HSV is doing. Bringing in GT500 and converting. I only say that because it is in an article published where Bernie is inspired by what HSV are doing.

The other option would be to do stuff that ties in with any work they do with any manufacturer that would be current.

It would make a lot of sense to compliment what they continue to offer from HG with the same options for 6 and mustang.

If you are going to partner with shockworks, then it makes sense to extend that to products like the turbo and the mustang.

If you are going to do exhausts, then same.

I personally don’t see mustang enhancement working outside of a business case where Premcar work with ford directly to make a Ford Australia hero car.

This should have been happening all the time since 2016.

The entire sign off on this customer car is said to take about 2 weeks.

    G’day Ian.

Just out of interest, what car are you using for the HG upgrade? It sounds like you have more than one to chose from? Can I ask why you chose it?

Are you the same Ian that featured on Premcar’s latest Facebook update?

Also, I have on fairly good authority that none of the HG packages or individual components will be offered after this project is complete. Happy to be corrected.

Congratulations to everyone that is going ahead.

Hi. Sorry, I didn’t mean to ignore your question, I am currently not getting email notifications on subscriptions, so when I use my phone I really only look at the last post and didn’t see yours.

Yes I do have a couple of choices on which car I will use but right now I am not revealing that as I intend to do videos for the site on every step of my HG journey and I want to do it in sequence and explain each step if that makes sense.

No i am not the same Ian that they are talking about right now, although we could pass for each other based on what they said in their update.

There is conflicting information on what’s going to be available into the future.

What’s not in doubt is the HG kit itself. It is 100 units, non negotiable, and then done. HG refers to the intercooler.

Originally I was told the suspension package for example would live past the 100 engine kits, but at the GT nationals word was floating about that this might not be the case.

I will absolute have some answers for you on this when they contact me because what I want to do to my car is install these parts separately and break them down and review each. But there is no real point doing that if there isn’t any plan to continue on

Will be interesting to what will be available. I haven't got a reply regarding the exhaust. This would be great to grab in December as I am a fan of the sound and OEM setup.
Ford Heritage : KF Laser, XF Ute, XH Tradesman Ute, EL Futura, AU2 Ute, XD Ute, XH XR6 Ute, BA XR8 Ute, SX Territory, BF XR8 Sedan, EB2 S XR6, EB1 S XR8, WQ Fiesta, FGX XR8, PX2 Ranger

    Thanks for the reply Ian.

I enquired about the exhaust and suspension as seperate packages after the project was complete and it was a pretty emphatic “no” from a couple of people involved. Partly because of the ADR sign off on handover, partly because the exhaust is tuned specifically for the HG upgrade and also to retain the exclusivity of the packages for the HG owners.

Wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong.

Personally, I hope this is the case as it’s quite a large investment.

    Regards.

PS. Looking forward to your reviews.

The exhaust makes a lot of sense, not sure about the suspension because I was told by Bernie that would continue, but as I said the talk out of the nationals was that it wouldn’t. It sounds like there has been a change of mind.

That said, my understanding is there is an exclusively deal with shockworks. There will be a time frame where they can’t use what was developed for Premcar.

They are telling people, still, there is more coming. Obviously there is going to be something around the 6 but in honesty it gets harder to do.

Miami was theirs. It made sense and continues to make sense. Limits or numbers on the six doesn’t make sense to me unless it’s aimed at the widest volume. Miami had 10k worth of volume.

    Sprint 6 is 500
F6 is obviously more but hasn’t been in production since 2013 ish. It’s also the unicorn in the engines.

270 has volume but that’s an even worse market to corner when you take in cheap modification options.

Mustang is obviously a route they might look at as well.

So I am unsure now what’s going to continue as a service and what’s not. Unless they intend on start stopping as a business model I think they probably need a range of products that keep people vested in the SVT brand they are creating.

I am of a mind that says, if you pick up the use of SVT you have the mind to do more with it.
