Question Series 3 T3 Rocker Covers

Are these Rocker Covers still available to purchase.Reason I'm asking is the old EL GT is getting a birthday soon, Alloy Heads & Custom Cam, I now have been informed by my engine builder that the new rocker arms will not clear the standard pressed steel rocker covers. I have no desire to rush out & buy some Trickflow Rocker Covers & I am assuming the T3 Rocker Cover is tall than the EL GT Rocker Covers.I intend to use Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnums Roller Rockers 1.6. ratio.Any of the T3 boys running something like this?

I have had no need to check with Ford if they are still available so can't answer. If they are they and are specific to T3 then will no doubt cost a nut or two!

I donít know if you can buy them still, but they are just a standard EFI Windsor rocker covers in black.

If your alloy heads are pedestal mount, then non-adjustable roller rockers will fit. If you have pedestal mount adjustable roller rockers, then you will need to buy the tall rocker covers. You can get some good looking Ford racing ones. But, be aware, you will also need to buy a manifold phenolic spacer. Donít go any bigger than 3/8 or 10mm. (bonnet wonít close if you do) If your heads are stud / shaft mount, then you will need the taller rocker covers either way.

My old XR8 had to have Ford racing covers and a 10mm spacer due to me using the TY 1.7:1 adjustable pedestal mount rockers. My T3 TS with the same alloy heads as the old XR8 is able to use the standard rocker covers, but only because I am using non-adjustable rockers. (we shimmed the pedestals to get the correct geometry) The XR8 race car I have, has shaft mount alloy heads on it, and thus it needs the tall rocker covers with a 10mm phenolic spacer.

    Hope this helps.

This was the first XR8 engine

Used this style. But make sure you order the truck efi ones. I think the part number ended in a 351. I got them from Raceparts in QLD. They also make a proper blanking plug for the driverside one.

Edit, from memory i had to modify the baffle plate and mounting posts to clear the RR too.

Choice looking engineThe EL GT has the big carbon fibre shroud over the engine, so nobody will see my "purdy" Rocker Covers. Once again, thanks for the info. Greg.

Glad to help. I learnt the hard way with them when doing the engine above. Found out half way through the assembly that they wouldnt fit!
