Poorboys tyre & rim cleaner.

I was a fan of Meguiars Hot Rims tyre & wheel cleaner, I recently tried Poorboys Spray & Rinse tyre & wheel cleaner. As anybody knows that has used the EL or Au high carbon factory brake pads, they make a pretty good mess of your wheels after a track day, or good hard run through some tight bends.
Normally I would have to use a wheel brush to get all the gunk off the wheels, but with the Poorboys product, I rinsed the wheels off, applied the product, waited a few minutes.
Hey presto, clean wheels & no wheel brush.:cool:
Be warned, it is twice the price of the Meguiars product.

I might give it a go, brembo pads and multi spoke wheels are a pain. The warning about the price make me think there is a bit of irony in the name.

I got mine from a pro detailer here in Perth, we would probably pay upto $10.00 difference in price to the East Coast guys, due freight costs. Meguiars is about $22, 750ml Poorboys $30ish for around the same. I will double check the size of the bottles.:cool:

Some items that are imported into Australia are actually cheaper in Perth as the ships stop in Fremantle first. Colnago bikes are a good example. I will do some research and see what I can find.

Hmm, Lynton I need the dunce cap, Poorboys is a quart, 946 m/l's. Probably not such a bad deal after all:p
The label says no bending or scrubbing,the product gets the big thumbs up from me.:o

I believe they make very good products.

Me I have swapped to Bowden's own. Aussie made and it supports the locals. It will do me. Got the equivalent wheel cleaner today actually. Yet to try it.

Yer the Poorbays stuff is good - some fellow enthusiats have used them for ages.
For the wheels I have been using a Michelin non acid wheel cleaner - I never need to brush but after spray and leave for a couple of minutes I use my wheel dedictaed wheel sponge and wipe down naturally more so for the inside of the rim and calipers.
I recently noticed from good source some have been using washing detergent put on a spray bottle - far more user friendly on your beloved brembos and I'm told works very well, will try out one day.

Me the 2 V8 owning hoon from SOR, tried to impress the neighbours with my "care for the planet" attitude.
So I washed both the GT's on the front lawn.
Trouble is the Poorboy's wheel cleaner killed the grass off!!! oops:eek:

Ian, I tried the Bowdens wheel cleaner and wasn't impressed. Only used it on the F6 and I still had to wash them afterwards. It certainly didn't work like the pictures Dan puts on Facebook. I know Damion has used it on the TE wheels too and had the same issue. If you leave it too long, (I thought i wasn't leaving it long enough) it will leave stains that you have to scrub off.
All I use now is the left over water/car wash after the car is cleaned. Change to my wheel MIT and microfibres and wash them and hose off. Takes some extra time with the F6 wheels, but the TS ones are easy.
