So who is going to buy a 2014 Falcon?

Or Territory for that matter.

So Ford will still be making Falcons and Territories for another 3 and a half years, and if Ford are to be beleived, the 2014 update to both cars will still go ahead.

This means there is plenty of time to save your pennies to get one of the last of them. From what I have heard, the 2014 Falcon is quite a looker, includes a lot of the features many have been longing for, and will include the favourite performance models that have made it such an iconic car for years.

I always intended to buy one prior to yesterday's announcement, and now I am even more determined. The trouble is choosing. It will be either an XR6T manual or XR8 manual.

What's your choice?

If i can get out of my FG for something reasonable i will! ive tried twice now to update but the numbers are working against me.. FG's depreciate bad...

Very hard for me to buy new, and before yesterday it was very low on the priority list but anything could happen. Best I can do at this stage is through leasing through work but have to convince bosses of changing policy, which I'll try doing.

My choice would be the same as yours, also in manual (mainly because the wife can only drive auto).

I will consider updating my FG F6 in 2015 to the last of the breed as long as the F6 is still in production.
My wife was all for getting a late 2014 territory titanium to replace the daily driver Mazda SP25 but with the news of the plant closures she has now poured cold water on the idea and said maybe a Mazda CX5 GT or Mazda 6 Atenza wagon is more on the cards (they were both option that we have been considering along with the territory)

Tough choice Dave. A V8 four sedan might be hard to get post 2016 but a turbo inline six will be impossible. It will be replaced with a twin turbo V6. How much sentiment plays a part here?

If its a consideration, nothing says Falcon more than inline6.

2015. (Maybe 2014). On schedule. 1 x burger with the lot GTP. Assuming I can get one.

And any other cars I can influence or find the need for between now and then for myself or anyone else.

Personal circumstances have changed for me in the past six months,
a new 2014 is probably out of reach at the moment - at least the one I want :p
Maybe setting difficult goals is part of keeping focus and passion for the cars we love.

After I got home from work I went online and started a new savings account, with the sole intent of buying one of the last falcons.
I don't care if all I can afford is a no options poverty pack xt. I will have the last model falcon, and il keep it for ever, and drive the wheels off it.

And therein lies the problem (for me anyway). I've always admired the XR6 turbo because it is a 100% home grown ball tearer, but nothing says 'Falcon' more than a V8 under the bonnet!
