My brother is going to the dark side.

My little brother has just informed me that he wants to buy a Holden ute :mad:

Now unfortunately all his friends have holden bomadores and one of them has a Holden ute.

How do I stop him from being a sheep and going to the dark side.

He's still on his Ps so his choice is only limited to the I6 not that thats a bad thing and the most he wants to spend is $15,000 and has to be manual.

AT the moment I'm on carsales sending him links to some cars but none to his taste at the mo...

Any help would be greatly appreciated to save another brain washed teen.

Your biggest problem is peer pressure. He wants to fit in with his mates so he he will buy what THEY think is cool. My first car was a holden as that was what all the cool guys drove and I went to war with my father over it as he was dead against the idea.

I won.....well in the big picture I probably lost and a year or so later the holden was gone.

Unfortunately all you can do is let him buy it and hopefully learn from his mistakes. My younger brother did the same quite a few years ago. He bought a VP commodore and then bought a Skyline. After a drive of my old XR8, he bought his own and is now on his second XR8.

Eventually your brother will work out which is the better vehicle.

Mate he's a P Plater in Picton, when was the last time you saw a young P Plater in SW Sydney who wasn't in a Commodore? Probably wants a manual SV6 in a bright colour? VY/VZ? It'll be a bit of an ask for that price anyway in a nice condition.

Thks guys for the replys... all hope is lost on him I'm afraid your right its peer pressure all right. He actually lives in Moorebank just near Liverpool if he was in Picton I'd have no chance almost every bloody car in Picton is a Holden of some sought. I forwarded some links from carsales to him. Ive got a couple of months to work on him as he is still saving.
Us Ford fans are a dying breed. I said this in another post:
Ford have an awesome line up of Falcons.. Turbo and non turbo. Excellent features great interiors and fuel economy and now a super charged beast that is way ahead of anything HSV have.

Why aren't they flooding the TV and newspapers with ads? Having more open days? Let the punters go for a test drive? Something!!!

Best thing you can do is change his environment, take him with you the next time you meet up with your Ford mates.

Well some good news on the ute front. Not my brother unfortunately still a work in progress.... BUT a good mate of mine whos 17 just bought his second car and its a brand new FG MK11 XR6 ute!!!! Its white and manual. I'll post some pics when he drops round today. 1 down just 10,000 more falcons to go.

Good news. The FG2 XR6 is brilliant.
