5L V8 1992 eb fairmont ghia

Hi,

I have a problem with my 1992 5L V8 EB Fairmont Ghia. It has been choosy about when it starts for the last week or 2 but until a few days ago if it didn't start all I had to do was wait 10 minutes and then it would start fine. The other day I was driving home from the shops and it stalled on me and I had to leave it in town for 2 days before it would start. Once it did start I had to leave my foot on the accelerator so it wouldn't just die on me for about 20 - 30 seconds before it would idle. Once it was idling i drove it home which is about 5km and it stalled about 8 times along the way but only for a second and then it would spring back to life before I had the time to react and pull over. I was wondering if it could be the fuel pump on the way out or maybe the coil or even as simple as a loose earth somewhere or a blocked fuel filter or maybe something i haven't thought of. Any help would be great before I go playing with the car. I have started the car once since and it idled fine straight away. Thank you.

Fuel pump and fuel filter would be the first place I would look.
