My 1st car. ZC Fairlane. Diamond white, black roof, black trim, 351 windsor, 600 holley, dual exhausts, elgar mags, which were really chromed pressed steel, and low. This was 1983 and Jacked up cars were the norm.
My first car, its not a Ford, but.....
1970 Datsun 1600, was bought new for my mother, got it Christmas Eve, 1970, Sky Blue
I turned 17 in 1975, and the car I drove most of the time was the Datsun 1600, I was a poor student, had no dollars to buy a car
In 77 I bought the 1600, and loved and drove this car everywhere. I saw the speedo read a 100 mph once
I still own it and it has a genuine 94000 miles on it.
My wife keeps on me and thinks I should get rid of it, but not yet.
My first Ford was a new one, in March 1986, we (me and the wife) went to buy a TX5 Ghia, but came home with a TX5 Turbo
Was Charcol, with light grey lower. 5 speed manual, with electric everything (minus sunroof). Even had electric sport or soft suspension
Basically this was my wifes daily, we ended up keeping this one till June 1996, 10 years, just used to love this car and its torque steer
I now regret selling this great little car

hehe actually so am I - loved that pic in the V8 thread what it may look like, red white and blue great combo ala Seton and Ford Credit days but the nismo godzillas always looked tuff in the colour combo......
OK I am going to have to find some time to scan some old pics of the early day but 1st car at 16yrs was boohoo and olden HG Kingswood 186 red motor 3 on the tree !, 2tone brown yuk !
Couldn't kill the bastard though and yes my wheel fetish started from the 1st car - 10" BF Goodrich TA's for the rears on chromies and hubcars and those from our vintage know they never had any grip in the wet ! Next mod a tape deck and speakers front and rear LOL...well those days only the cream cars had a radio std ! Genie extractors full sports system Holley 350 carb re jetted wooohooooo ! 1st gear could wind her screaming out to just on 48mph slam into 2nd as long as the linkages didn't get locked ! I was already in the suspension/parts game then as Elks mentioned another thread fad was "high" arse those days fitted air shocks and tuffer fronts. As said couldn't kill it and drove like a madmen those days - Syd to Melb pre freeway days 7 3/4 hrs pedal to the metal !
1st new car oh my here we go talking about a Focus was a Laser KA sport in Venom (wouldn't have a clue what the red was called those days), super reliable beat her up like mad, put 18's on her, tint the girlys loved it !
2nd new car oh no the Laser KB sport in french blue - again I loved this, had a body kit, put 18's mesh tint, she looked hot ! LOL...my god when I think about this now.
In between these run around work cars were Esky Panel van 1600, usual Esky mods but a POS, XC ute another POS never like it.
Rare FC ute grey motor, 3 on the tree no 1st syncro - even though a gm car I cherished it and was restoring her back in early 80's, was a third car so a garage queen ended up sold her due to never seeing myself finishing her off - one car I really regret not keeping.
Got to find the photos will be a real laugh.
My first car was also a Datto, 260Z, 5sp, white. Loved it.
We were cruising around late one night (here in Sydney) when I first got it, and my mate dared me to drive up to Ballina (where his parents lived)...
He said "trust me, the drive up there will be worth it".
I said, "you're paying for the fuel".
He was right, that was the best ever drive! It was raining for most of the way and when he was driving I got nervous because the car felt like it was at it's limit, just on the verge of sliding with the many long sweepers on the Pacific Hwy. But then, when I drove I found that same sweet spot, and discovered the car to be very predictable and so the shoe was on the other foot - he cringed a lot.
Beautifully balanced car.
bear in mind i'm 6'2, my first car was a leyland mini. actually my first 2 cars were mini's. both leylands. first was just a 998cc and the second was a 1275gt. spent quite a bit of coin on that one. not quick at all by todays standards but great little cars and surprisingly roomy inside.
My first car i bought in 1986 for $3500 was a Flame Red XC GS 351 4sd... Put a little Sig Erson TQ20 cam in it, twin 2 1/2" exhaust (had the twin as std anyway), 600 holley, lowered, chrome 12 slotters or centerlines depending on the mood! GXL wheel trims and over riders, car was absolutely immaculate. Im trying to find some pics of it.

Vh Valiant, 245 Hemi, tripple webbers, stock brakes, 5 inch free play in steering, bucket seats, adjustable ride hieght (dial your own height bolts :) Spare set of keys in the petrol tank - yep dropped them in there...
Vn Commodore Station Wagon - 2 weeks - car v s tree - tree won
83 Toyota Corolla, had to set the seats back 2 inches so I could fit in.
