Leaking Header Tank
Hi Folks,
My EF is in a bit of a state at the moment. It has a persistent coolant leak, at the same time that the coolant level sensor has packed it in. I've been filling the header tank up fortnightly or so, or when the sensor told me it was time to fill up. Until Sunday, when the sensor gave up, the light came on the dash, and I pulled over very quickly, squeezed the top hose, saw how full the tank was, and kept going.
From what I've discovered, it looks to be leaking coolant from where the small hose from the thermostat housing meets the header tank.

Can the header tank be epoxyed, or am I up for a new one? Also, how much is a new Coolant Level Sensor?
The EF is also in need of some cosmetic work. Anyone know a good panel beater? I got knocked near the warehouse at work, and the lower bumper is held on with two screws and constant prayer...

I'd just buy a new one with the sensor in it mate, I've seen them on ebay,

Yes has happened to many due to age - plastic cracks getting harder but I changed mine for I hated the brown old looking tank LOL.....
Pretty easy fix as galaxy shows above - got mine from Ford at trade for around $120 couple of years ago.

Yep - bit the bullet and bought both the header tank and sensor. I'll keep filling it up as needed between now and then.
Will the hose need replacing as well?

If its looking close to perished I would.

Yeah for a little bit of dosh and peace of mind I would replace the hose and suss out all others while your at it.
