T Series Nationals - Tasmania 20th to 25th Feb 2012

Howdy All,

As this is a new forum with some old and some new faces, i thought it would be best to post up about the upcoming T Series nationals. This event is open to all T series and Pursuit 250 owners.

All the dates are for February 2012.

Day 1 – Monday 20th

Arrive Devonport and depart Spirit of Tasmania approx 7am
Devonport to Launceston Via:
•Frankford hwy
•Beaconsfield
•Batman Bridge
•Afternoon to relax
•Wash cars
•Airport pick ups
•Gorge and Basin (walk / sight seeing)
•Overnight in Launceston
•Spirit Day sailing, drive directly to Launceston (1hr drive)
•120ks - 3hrs with stops

Day 2 – Tuesday 21st

Launceston to East coast and return.
Driving the following Targa Routes:
•Sidling – Scottsdale
•Welborough Pass
•St Helens (Lunch)
•St Marys Pass
•Overnight in Launceston
•330ks, 4hrs driving

Day 3 – Wednesday 22nd

Launceston - Sightseeing and Relax Day
•Symmons Plains track day. 8am till noon. (TBC)
•National Automobile Museum
•Boags Brewery tour and tasting
•Longford (Old racetrack relics)
•Evening Meal at Longford Historic Pub
•Overnight in Launceston

Day 4 – Thursday 23rd

Launceston to Stanley Via
•Sheffield (morning Tea)
•Wilmot
•Ulverstone (Lunch)
•Overnight in Stanley
•280ks – 3.5hs driving

Day 5 – Friday 24th

Stanley to Devonport Via
•Morning spent sightseeing in Stanley
•Hellyer Gorge
•Overnight in Devonport
•225ks – 3hrs driving

Day 6 – Saturday 25th

Devonport
•Meet with local FPV/Tickford/XR club. Participate in the local Ford dealership All Ford day Show and Shine (10am till 2pm)
•Afternoon cruise via local roads around Devonport before departing on the Spirit that night.

Review

So this will give us a total of 3 nights in Launceston, 1 night in Stanley and 1 night in Devonport.

What an amazing event and what should be considered a must do function for any T series enthusiast. Trust me, anyone thinking or procrastinating on this will be kicking themselves silly if they miss out.

What's wrong with you driving to Stanley? Actually what the hell is wrong with only 6 cars confirmed, three of them local????? If you own a T series car and you understand what that means and you are still not committed to this adventure, the cars should be confiscated and given to me. After this event has been run people all over the country are going to be thinking; "what have I done"!!!

Remember the feeling the guys had in South Aust two years ago....?? X10!!!

Great pic of all the T's together Ian, if that doesn't motivate you to get to Tassie, nothing will!

Ian I count 10 cars, but I belive there will still be on or two more
pity we cant get to 30 we had in the Barossa
but hey, thats life, Tazzy is a big cost, but 4 of us came from Tazzy to the Barossa
and will have to do that again in 2 years if we want to attend
and then 2 yrs after that

I think some phone calls are in order to get some alignment on what life's priorities should be about. Surely there are spare seats available. There has been two years of knowing where this event was going to be held and I know for a fact prices haven't gone up that much.

I can appreciate the thought of packing a car up to come to Tasmania seems like it's more trouble than it's worth. I also know nothing could be further from the truth. That event looks to be spot on and no disrespect intended towards the function that was held in SA but right here you have the true spirit of what the Tickford brand is all about. Feel free to quote me.

I have done the phone calls and emails. It just doesnt seem to be on the 'to do' list. If it was in NSW or VIC where most would only have to drive for an hour i would guess that there would be 50 cars attend.
