A bit rich compared to XR6T?
Agree with that. A base car that is somewhere around that $53-55K. Then you may have a premium package of leather seats, premium sound etc costing $ and also a performance package that would be Brembo's. Having that V8 sound and shove is worth it over a XR6T.
Let's take a punt on the colours shall we?
The evergreen favourites of Silhouette, Lightning Strike, Winter White and Vixen.
What else? I'd like to see Blueprint return. That chameleon colour that arrived on the sly with BFII and carried over to FGI. Track Red?
The RRP for these limited editions in my mind represents good value. I know where the GT is now and yes I still think the Gt-F is good value at that RRP.
Its below my anticipated price by 5k.
I think people should be feeling slightly easier, the opportunity by Ford to fleece was there and they didn't take it.
Let's not talk too soon... There's dealers between Ford and the consumers...
You cant control that. Ford set the RRP, that's the indication of what Ford are wanting in their margin, they could have gone higher and didn't.
When you add this action to the expanding of dealerships in XR8 that reduce the power they have to mark up, add that to the Xr8 brand, maybe some questionable assumptions on spec and I think that adds up to more optimism than I have had anyway.
So with a limited run car like this last GT, price gouging by dealers is much more likely.
But with a volume production model like the XR8, there will be less opportunity, especially when the months pass, the initial ordering/buying flurry is taken up and sales start to decline. Don't forget until Ford state otherwise, they have got to stick it out until October 2016.
