First time poster. Just bought an AU1 XR8 and on the drive home I noticed it has a good 5-10 degrees either side of neutral of play in the wheel.
It's only while driving in a straight line with no play while turning.
Anyone have an idea what it might be? The column has been replaced, apparently the AU1 had known column issues. (I've only owned an XD before)

No shudder no squeaks or odd noises. If it is power steering rack, is it an expensive repair?
Get under and check for leaks or weaping seals, they're not cheap from memory, I'm not even sure if they can have the lash adjusted or not.Quote:

Like I said that was fitted with 2 front struts and a wheel alignment. So the rack by itself wasn't all that cost.Quote:
