EL GT Promotional photo shoot.

Guess who's EL GT's featured in a promotional photo shoot for a local business here in Perth?
Photo session was going ok, until someone suggested I appear in the photo's.
I ruined 3 good photo's of the cars, "ugly to the bone comes to mind" :highly_amused:
Sadly the photo shoot for Biante, done months ago became a fizzer, you cannot laser trace a green car, with a green laser!!!
Next step was to glue little strands of cotton all over the car, so the laser beam could pick up the body shape & contour of the car.
Nah, was not keen on that idea. :detail:

yer agree why spoil a very nice looking Ford with the owners scone LOL.........

Talking ELGT's - man their pricing typically is up and down just as everything I suppose, I look and look.
Even EB's - can't help looking at a couple - there's that black one from over your side of the world, I love their body kit but for the interior bah can't stand it.

There was a red XR8 Sprint parked at work today that looked pretty tidy, could not help but wonder what their price would be. I really loved my old ED and am sure I could really enjoy the Sprint.

Business owner has informed me, wifey took the green car down for a "professional shoot" whilst I was at work.
I might see how that one turned out.
Sadly, I was attacked with the ugly stick, very shortly after birth!!!
I f the pro shoot is better (God you would hope so) I will try & post it up here.:cool:

Biante approached for permission to use both of my GT's for an EL GT model.
The interior of the blue car was used, as well shots taken through the sunroof, that went ok.
The green car was taken to a workshop, put up on a hoist, photo's taken, & a laser trace used to locate all the under carriage of the car.
The next day the green car had a photo shoot done, that went ok. They then used a green laser trace to do the body & body kit shape.
I asked the guys that were lasering the car, "will the green laser, pick up on the green paint"?
Yeah mate, no worries!!!
Well, guess what?
I told Ian of this months ago, & to keep under his hat in case it all went awry. (Lucky for me)
Next idea, was to glue little cotton strips all over the car, then laser it again.
No not keen on that, so back to the drawing board we go.
Biante reckon there is no actual drawings of the EL GT body kit, or it's dimensions.
In any case, they would have been lost in the transition of Tickford to FPV.
Quite sad really.:(

You obviously got some moola from Biante using your GT's I hope project.

You know hearing of your comments that Biante couldn't get any info from Ford I imagine of the EL's body kit for eg staggers me of all the things we have kept hearing of the Tickford era and the fpv transition. How all old promo gear/leaflets etc went into a large fire and whatever files of info gone missing.

It staggers me of a professional company throwing away all their history ! One wonders on recent times re fpv what have they done with prodrives data etc.

No I didn't, but I was offered the prototype & finished model of the car.
I was happy with that, because it was to be an extremely limited build run. :)

So they're looking for another EL GT to scan?

so buying if they come through with it.
