this was a long time in the making .
i was fortunate that just as the rumor started that something special was planned as the last tribute to the gt was murmurer ,
i had just sold a property .
the proceeds should have been sensibly placed back into the mortgages funds .
but i stopped in to the ford dealer nearest to inquire if it was so .
i had toyed with the idea of may be getting a g6et or may be waiting for another new xr8.
he confirmed the rumors and was having a sales meeting that after noon .
at 4.50 on that night , he rang and said yes , its happening , a last harar for ,FPV....?
he told me a little bit about it for which i replied "IM IN "
I WAS ON HIS DOOR STEP FIRST LIGHT , I WAS NOT GOING TO MISS THIS ONE !!!!
i possibly was the first in nz to put money down , never know ?
from then it was a waiting game , a very frustrating game .
i started telling friends about what it was , over the months of not materializing they though i was talking shit , must admit i wondered my self ....lol
then as time went by , the great debate of the bragging rights to the horsepower race was on .
i was getting both exited and discouraged at the same time .......perhaps just frustrated ?
so i stopped telling any one .
when they started being released in au , i couldn't wait , i was trying not to get too hypo on it , but to be honest i was down the dealers every week asking yes yes yes , the reply was no no no .......o shit !!
the breaking news , it had a confirmed order fill ////// jeeeeez meaning the car had actual been confirmed as actually existing
actually been made actually .... 31/50 NZ
then next call ....its sitting on a dock in Melbourne waiting for a ship , maybe 1 week maybe 3 ?
next call ....its on board a ship ...left today !!!
about 4-5 days later cant remember how long it took ,
boat landing about Friday , allow a week to roll off and clear all the import regs etc etc ,
next Wednesday avo , dealer sales manager call , say it will arrive by car transporter tomorrow .
tomorrow could not come quick enough for me .
i was down there first thing and was taking out the back yard and there it was , a couple of black , a orange , and my perfect White one . got in stated it up , vroooom .......sigh......
i had been waiting for my personalized plates , the didn't arrive when it was ready but turned up yesterday .
they would then affix and give it a final clean for me to uplift next day .
stay tuned , just going off to get something to eat , it hungry work as a motoring journo ......o shit sake !
ok back again , honey sandwich and a beer , all i can afford after shelling out $102,000 ....ouch !!
should have paid my other bills , but what the fuck , they never catch me in this thing any how .....lol
great panic to get bank to transfer funds unless i give them a personalized signed authority .....WTF
i cant get across town to get this done before 4.00pm shut off .....
after much begging i got it done .
next morning {today} im there on the appointed time, and there it was , sitting out side in the bright sun light , indeed it was a sunny day in all respects !!
photos taken , pre flight check , how things work , hey , i said, its on a needs to know basis , if i need to know ill find out , i was restless .....lol
ok all done , im outta here , pull out of the yard , nail it ever so gently ....yer right , lights up the bags just a little, much more and TC comes in .......FUCK THIS IS QUICK !!
im about 25k to home , but i had to take a longer way home, in fact it was three hundred k,s longer , funny that !!
i can verify it at least does 235kph .....i ran out of courage and black top pretty fast ......power poles were looking like picket fences ....lol
I had a friend a bit down country , it seems i was closer ti him than home so i dropped in to see him and compare with his G6Et,
he drooled over it some , then i took him for a ride ..........scared the crape out of him , me too just quietly ...lol
round town its a tame budgy , not a bird of prey [falcon ], the suspension was a lot softer than i thought a r spec was going to be , but more on that in the next installment .
get out and nail it and its like shit !!! hang on to something .
its got so much power to overtake , but you gotta get it up a little more in the revs , at 2000 rpm it only doing 120kph ,.
at this sort of driving it says i was getting 20l per 100k ......shit !
i took it a bit slower on the way home , got it up to 16 p 100.
i sure if i could resist it , it would come down to , say 12-14 , may be better , but what the fuck if i cant afford to drive it , i cant afford to own it , but make no mistake , this will NOT be a garage queen , lest not until the excitement wears off .
soooo here we are , back safely in my garage , the only extras it will have , is a rear intrusion deflection devise , [tow bar - don't laugh , it does work very well at reducing damage to my rear bar ....lol]
and then a GPS transponder witch will tell me were i is 24/7 any were i am in the world on my iPhone or iPad , so NO one can borrow it with out my permission , and if they do , i can turn the engine off from any were in that world .
so , that's day one in the life of a GT F owner , a road trip is definitely on the plan , don't know were to , just go to the end of the road and turn left , don't stop to yer get to the Bluff ....lol [ that's the further most point in NZ BTW]

Not much action today , drove my mondeo , looks the same , both white ........same keys ........about all really ?
Washed the F , then I had to blow dry it didn't i .....lol
