Falconforums at the FG X media launch

We are very pleased to announce that we will be part of the media taking part in this historic media event for the FG X Falcon.

Our man Tony is in the air as I write this ahead of the event kicking off tomorrow. As many will have noted some in the media have already taken part in the first group. If my understanding is correct some stuff is embargoed till some time Friday but pictures of the cars are obviously allowed.

We plan to tweet and FB any thing Tony sends our way plus Tony will do his own review as only he can.

So some pretty good stuff coming up on the forum over the next week or so.

I have the motorkhana track set up just so...

Hey guys. Well what a fun day I have had. The FG-X is just incredible. All the new models have the Sync2 ICC system which makes the iPhone 6 look like a Nokia.

The Sync2 does AM FM DAB CD has 2 USB ports (yes 2) and controls the Nav and climate control by a choice of buttons, touch screen and voice.
YES VOICE and it bloody works. I tried silly voices but could not trick it. It can set the aircon, do nav stuff, ring your phone and play music by just asking title or artist and even dial up the radio by saying the frequency. Also every Falcon and Terri from the basic Falcon (no more XT) up to the XR8 come with Sync2 AND reversing cameras and beepers.

I have finally driven an Ecoboost 4 (G6E). What a shock. They go like the clappers and would eat any 6 cylinder N/A Falcon before the FG. The G6E comes with an optional tan leather interior (think BMW 335i) which looks REALLY classy. I would recommend anyone who is thinking of buying a basic Falcon to try the Ecoboost as it is MUCH MUCH better than I thought it would be.

I also got to play with the EcoLPi Falcon. As you are all aware I am not a LPG fanboy (understatement) but I was quite impressed by this car. It was the povvo Falcon with no options yet it came with the Sync2 and the reversing system. Nav is an option. It was quiet, quick, felt surefooted and stable and was very comfortable. I drove it on the windy crappy roads near the ski fields and it was just a happy little car not caring about the potholes or bumps. The EcoLPi performs well and it will hold its own against any other 6 sedan I have ever driven.

The Territory Titanium RWD was the third one I played with today. I do not know a lot about Terris but Nick my co-driver (Falcon Coupe from AFF) drove his own 2013 Terri up from Melbourne this morning and he reckons the new one is GREAT. Again it features all the Sync2 techno grooviness and is quiet as a mouse on the road, so quiet I thought the engine had stalled once.

I have pics but I left the camera lead at home (duh). There is one on our facebook site of the XR8s we get to play with tomorrow.
I will get to play with the new XR6T and G6ET as well on Winton Raceway so I suspect I will have a fun day.

Also I asked about the secret 375kw XR8 and 330kw XR6T and everyone denied that they are making them so it has to be true....... :) I saw a blurry pic of them parked next to the V10 GTHO and XR8 wagon.......

Tony was probably one of the more capable guys on the motorkhana... Maybe because he actually listened to my instructions on how to go quickly.
