FG XR6 Turbo revived

Just thought I would share some recent minor updates to my gracefully aging 2008 FG XR6 Turbo. It was getting a well earned tidy up after years of service being used as a shopping trolley, kids taxi, business vehicle, interstate traveler and the like. Everything but a performance saloon really.

The car is mechanically unmodified other than suspension which is pretty rare for a turbo model of this vintage. I've only ever once turned the traction control off..and that was only recently! It is highly optioned from factory and the exterior and interior remain in beautiful condition. While at the repair shop someone had written off their FG GT and some of the panels had magically transferred overnight..lol

Thanks guys. She still scrubs up well. I have to say the refresh somewhat renewed my enjoyment with this car. I love the colour and the GT bonnet/Rear wing really sets it off.

Like the bonnet and the spoiler, not sure about the FPV badge though!

Yes the FPV badge is a controversial one. I agonised over it a bit, especially being a genuine FPV owner to. For me it was more about aesthetics opposed to trying pass the car off as an FPV product. In an ironic twist my genuine FPV GT has a Ford badge on it and I prefer it that way.

The XR6 looks fantastic though and you are right about the colour. That wing and bonnet work very well with the lines and I have to say that is a truly magnificent family hack.

Nice Colville, but i have to say, I'm one of the ones thats not in favour of having bonnet bulges on anything other than they were meant to be on. same with the wing. to me it will always be trying to be something it isn't.

no offense though. its a personal choice and its your car to do with as you please:)

Im kinda leaning towards doing mods using factory accessaries etc .
