I thought I’d start near the end really, well just last week anyhow:

There it is, not the happiest photo I have of the Ute, speaking of which, this is one of the happiest, the Ute will be back together in a week or two:

It all started a number of years ago with a BAII, I6, RTV, here’s a shot when I got the Ute:

The Ute had a hard lid, a Black Leatherette job. It would have suited me, except the portable Fridge I had wouldn’t fit under the hard lid, so:

Mods increased, 4490 extractors, a Ford V8 Ute exhaust, F6 Airbox, an X-Cal 1 with a generic 98 Tune. I don’t work much these days and I have a bit over 4 months off every year; its tough I can tell you. I like the “Vision Splendid” too, I have a camper trailer which I tow, well anywhere I like.

There was something missing….. more power. I had discovered a few things about RTV’s, namely, they came standard with the V8 Radiator, Transmission and the M86 Diff. So bolt on power wouldn’t tear the Ute to pieces, so research commenced and I found Raptor Superchargers, based in Mackay, QLD. Handy Units as they had ceramic bearings and the gear box was air cooled, so there was no drilling the sump and being concerned about oiling. Raptor claimed that 60% power & Torque were on the cards, which would be nice. The other handy thing was it was bolt on…..

So in a week or so when the Ute returns, I’ll be a happy man, for two reasons, one well you know…. and two, I’ll be off on Easter Holidays.

OUCH. Hopefully no one was injured or hurt.
I didn't know they had the V8's driveline. Thankfully it now has more than that V8's power... way more.
The guy that bought my Futura last week asked about a blower (I can't believe he thinks it needs more power... impossible), and I thought of yourself to give him any tips on what's required and what he should watch out for.
Looking forward to the updates, and seeing the blown RTV back up on it's feet.

Yes, thanks for the comments Chaps.
Hey Youseff, if your guy needs some information, I'm happy to assist.

Heavier bullbar this time Burnout?
-
No, actually the Smart Bar saved the Ute, the air bags didn't go off. It also saved it from a fair bit more damage according to the panel beater.
The Smart Bars are designed to soak up impacts up to about 40kph.
One thing about the S/C on the Ute apart from 230 odd rwkw is the torque, about 500nm, which is the same as an FG Turbo. Very nice, I assure you.

:( Sorry to see the ute in that state. Where do those bars mount? It musn't have bend the rad support then I take it?
Hope its back on the road soon mate, unfortunately I know all too well how that feels mate.
