New to this forum and have a question about the XW Falcon

Hi there
My name is Ronald and I live in the Netherlands.
I own 3 Mustangs (see signature)

I've been offered a 1970 Ford Falcon XW.
The Falcon was purchased in 2004 by a Dutchman working in Australia, and shipped over to the Netherlands in 2009.

The dataplate looks like it has been fiddled with, as the Engine, Trans, Ext and Int is all blanc, and somebody put HO in the SVO-box.
An Australian friend told me it looked like it was originaly a 6-cil car
Does anybody have a record of this car or is there a registry available where dataplate information can be retraced ?
Any help would be appriciated.

JH is Brisbane, 18933 is an XW Falcon 500 Sedan.

Can you look at the top of the shock tower on the passenger side? there will be a number there that will tell you what the original engine was.

The stamping on the SVO looks like a modification, the rivets have been changed at some point so the plate has been off the car.

Interesting, an XW in the Netherlands, welcome! VIN will be on the radiator support panel on the passenger side. Although by July 1970 they might have started stamping them entirely on the shock tower?

On XW's the Shock tower number is the engine number which is different to the Chassis number.

There is a crossover date to the latter "3 number" system but regardless that number weather its chassis or engine will tell you if its an 8 or 6 from the factory and in the case of the earlier system engine size and trans.

Also the rego plate is QLD and was issued in 2007.

Nah 2004 that plate came to life.

My 2004 XR6 had HZP.

Is the dataplate the only place for the vincode ?
For example: The 1970 Mustang has the vincode also behind the windscreen.

I couldn't find a number on the passenger shocktower, looks like it has been removed

The 351C did turn over, but the battery I brought with me wasn't strong enough to turn it quickly, so it didn't fire up

It did look like white isn't the original color. Maybe orange ?

Hop under the car and take a picture of the bottom of the cross member that goes below the sump.

That would be tough, as the car is still 150 kilometers away
