Hi all, I'm looking for any info derived from personal experience regarding suspension upgrades for an FG sedan. I've read about X.Y.Z. suspension (coilovers), but had never heard of them prior to buying the FG. Can anyone comment on their experiences with X.Y.Z.? I'm not interested in sacking the car out, I just want to get rid of as much of the body roll as I can, and make the car a bit more stable in corners, as it's very boatish in it's current form.

It's a great topic. Are you able to give us an idea of your current/intended vehicle usage I.e 80% suburban 20% highway or 50/50 or 90% city 10% track etc?

It's also worth adding what your current FG is. Some one may correct me (feel free to) but there is 3 basic suspensions in FG. XT & G6, XR & G6E firmer and more sporty, Then FPV & XR8 more serious again.
The general feedback is well sorted 'Normal" springs and shocks will do everything and more that coil overs will, albeit without the adjustability.
I could from experience having coil overs on the T3 but on the mobile tpying and im not going to do a sermon.
Do yourself a quicker cheaper easier favour seeing you mention body roll.
Get the adjustable whiteline front and rear bars - that for straters will improve your body roll 110% !

Yes as Maurie said, start with the sway bars. Best bang for buck.
Maybe have a look at shockworks depending on how far you want to go.

The OP quotes wanting to be rid or reduce body roll. Sway bars first smart option nuff said.
What does "sacking the car out" mean ?
Front sway bar in the fg is a 1mm upgrade. Better improvement was found in the b series with the sway bar. Depending on how far the op want to go sway bars will only do so much.Quote:

As said a smarter spend before going coil overs up to $2k or whatever then fitment etcetc....
