2016 FGX Sprint build/Color information.

Hi All,

Ford have been kind enough to share the Sprint build details with us.

This data is taken directly off the build sheets and includes all VIN details and build numbers (VIN/Build details kept private).

This information has been archived appropriately and has also been provided to Ford's official historian for safe keeping.

This data has been ratified by the program team and remains the only source of official data that will be recognised as it is aligned to the vehicle VIN and engine numbers.

The colour mix is very interesting. It seems to be almost the exact opposite of FPVs

Thanks Norm ... so I can now at least identify my "missing car" ... it's a kinetic 6. OK someone better own up who has it? Anyone? In Tassie maybe? LOL

Also found a mistake I had with mine ... had one of the kinetic auto 8s in NZ listed as a manual. Oh well that's what happens working through the wee hours sometimes aye. Still I think having only missed one and only mucked up one out out the 1400 cars wasn't bad.

Thanks Norm, great work getting a hold of that for us! Also to the people at Ford who supplied it. It will, I'm sure, prove valuable as the years roll on. I wonder if such a precise archive of GTHO's, E49's or the A9X exist? They may, but is that info as accessible as Sprint info in the age of the 'puter and 'puter records!

Some interesting numbers to note.

59 appears 4 times across Australian cars.

Amazingly three of those are on the colour Silhouette.
All three options come up as 59. 59 turbos, 59 auto XR8s and 59 manual XR8s.

The other 59 is kinetic in manual.

White XR8s total an even 250 cars or exactly 33%

The trans split is 325/425 or 43.3%/56.6% with Silhouette the only colour to match trans choice 100% as already mentioned.

Rarest colour was as expected Aero in manual. Only 10 of.

White the most popular across both models.

XR8 percentage
Aero represents 3.7%
Gold represents 6.9%
Black 15.7%
Kinetic 18.2%
Fake black 22.1%
White 33.3%


XR6 colour percentage.


Victory Gold saved Aero from a clean sweep with 6.0%
Aero comes in at 6.2%
Silhouette 11.8%
Kinetic 17.8
Smoke 23.6%
And the largest percentage of all, white with 34.6%

Sprint 6 in smoke has been the most successful hero colour with 23.6% beating Smoke GTF by miles and vicotry Gold in Sprint 8 form by many many multiples of miles.


If anyone had money on the Silhouette numbers matching across all offerings, well done.
