G'day guys. With the XR's is there a way that the hockey stick DRL's can be changed from white to another colour? I would be assuming that there would also be legal ramifications?

Dont know about the "how to" side of things but there's no way I'd do it, anything other than white at the front and red at the back and you're going to get looked at.
Yeh I know. Just toying with the idea because of the Vader theme. Would be kinda cool to have the headlights with red DRL's. Worst colour to have to keep the mod legal!Quote:

The plan was to grab a second hand light and play with it. I reckon that it would look awesome, especially with the Vader theme. The only huge concern I have that it would not be legal. Having red LED's on the front a vehicle would not do well with the boys in blue.Quote:

Bahahaha. If I ever get to Altezzas you have full permission to contact Elks, get my loan torn up, and get the repo men in to save Vader. Nothing wrong with looking outside the square for ideas. Reds a problem. From a legal standpoint. Red lights need to be rear facing. So it's recognised at the rear.
From a perspective of truck running lights.
Forwards facing lights are white or Amber. Side lights are amber. And whilst the ADR says they simply can't be red. If try getting up the gig heat with a green or purple light ( let alone red) you will get booked and defected.
That said a friend has been running red glowing head lamps in his ute for years. Without a drama.

So maybe your red 'eyes' can come from the lamps not the DRLs and you need to find a way to switch them on off as required.
I looked at switching my parking lamps on the Pursuit to blue but was talked out of it by the shop selling the blue lamps because I will get defected.
