Time to look at what and who they are. This is more about the present than celebrating the past.
Tickford need to start looking towards the future when many potential clients don’t care about guys like Moffat.
Was always going to happen, so it is good to see the start of it now.
This is the good point.
They now need to start getting the brand having a wider marketing footprint.
My other thought they also need to start coming up with more ideas/features that make them unique being Mustang is so popular now, something different here and there.
I love this. Just a shame they weren't having more success on track to launch this new line. Still, what's happening now on track will be forgotten quickly if the product is good. The racing and engineering pedigree of the people behind Tickford should be enough to see it through.
The 18 has some features they have so they are being changed.
We did discuss this aspect when the 77 was launched.
Retro, heritage, what ever you like to call it has limited appeal.
This is the money line right here. This is the start of leveraging racing which no one other than walkingshaw can do.
There are issues with value. The identity has to be weighed up with models like the Bullitt.
I have severe reservations about future collectibility with cars like the 77.
A model line with greater colour choice, a great stance, makes the package a serious contender.
It’s really only Mustang Motorsport doing identity models. Everyone else is personal choice.
You can do that at Tickford too, but it’s the pacakages that make more sense if you want to own something that’s recognisable in its own right.
OK, a few more things.
I agree, heritage is over I guess....retro I think still has some kind of pulling power imo depending how well its done.
I'm all for other business alternatives like MM Tickford Herrod Harrop BUT their trouble is to market overall is "RRP"....
Its got to be bloody good imo for the premium you pay above from the Ford showroom + extras.
The pics you show above are the same ol same ol for me, charging those premiums they need to come up with something more stylish and different regards to seat embroidery - those wheels, now this is always personal but whoever think those are the ones to present on its first viewing I think they could find something with better styling but thats me.
Willwood brakes, should have the T logo on those calipers.
IMO they need to do better as I'm saying for I'm sure these Ponys are on $100k or abouts.
I'm not a fan of tribute models.
For me personally they're a bit gimmicky and cheesy.
I like the idea of this type of special.
Make the model about its content, not a hat tip to history.
It will be very interesting to see content and specs.
I don’t know that heritage is over as such. The coke model at some point i am sure will make a run but these models can be part of, but not define their product portfolio.
The confusion part about the initial statements was in one breah “be about the future” . No Falcon modifications for example, but yet the first celebration or hero package was about the past.
Since then they have teamed up with a few companies to make one off cars or packages.
I am sure they will do something around their drivers which will be interesting in how thats received.
I disagree about the wheels, as you say that’s personal but to me they are simple and clean and clean again as in the time required to maintain them.
The stance and everything looks good. It’s not over the top.
Brake logo? Would you replace Brembo with Sprint or FPV?
Once we went with a name brake system we never changed the logo on the caliper either so for me I wouldn’t want that done here.
That said my reaction was who are these brakes? Must be biggish in the US I guess?
The price. I tend to agree on that one.
