I don't know. Chaz going to Penske would be great for him, but I'm still not convinced that they want him. I expect Fabs to stay put for another season or two to maintain consistency. He hasn't been exactly slow lately either. I expect the big moves next year will be happening at HSV, maybe even Tickford with Cam, if not Moz. I don't see James Courtney getting another drive after this year TBH.
That interview is quite up front and honest.
It does however sound like he's genuinely looking, his language is not one of contentment, stability or continuity.
No coincidence RP is in Perth and he got a nice hair cut too... LOL.
His comment about running into him was funny.
I agree though, Chaz would be a back up plan should Scott leave, but if Scott stays i cant see DJRTP making any changes.
I'd like to see Anton DePasquale considered at DJRTP at some point too, and he's out of contract this year....
Fabs is running well at the moment so you would expect that he will stay. Rojer is smart. He will keep his options open and so will Chaz. If Scotty looks like winning I reckon he will go, especially if he gets Bathurst. If Scotty goes then Chaz and Fabs would be a good fit. Having said that a long way to go in the championship.
It's a tough one, how do you not re-sign the bloke sitting second in the championship with 33% of the season completed??
Roger spent a fair bit of time alone with Fabs after the win talking to him.
Chaz still makes silly mistakes which tarnishes his overall "value" as a driver, i'm not sure he's in the Penske mould the same way Scott or Fabs are.
Reynolds has peaked, im happy to see him stay where he is.
I don’t think there is any doubt Chaz would smash Fabs in equal equipment. That’s game over. Speed wins. Chaz is one of the fastest drivers out there. Any idea of sticking with Fabs over Chaz comes down to a mentality of we don’t want two number 1 drivers or we don’t want the best.
Most of the the mistakes Chaz makes comes from over driving the car, something that is less of an issue when you use an indicator to let the competition pass.
