Barra upgrade announced on Facebook, asking for what people want.
Will be interesting to see what they get. If they are moving out from the V8 will Premcar start offering just exhaust and tunes for both engines?
Poor Bern, i hope he's steeled himself for this one.
Imagine the comments and questions he will get...

So what would have been the progression for the Barra after Sprint?
Premcar run the risk of being a tuning house with the Barra and you will then get the comments that Norm has raised. Already in the other forum so many people have slagged off the HG without understanding what it truly is. This will be the challenge, getting the public to understand the differentiation and the value with the package. I am not sure whether it would include suspension etc like with the HG, but I would like to see that happen. Then you can bring the motor, suspension package together.
Having said this I would love an exhaust and tune option for the Miami. My argument is that I understand the company behind the tuning and would pay the possible premium. Others wouldn't. But that is another story and another chapter that may or may not happen.
I have no idea what Bern's proposing for the 6T, but we need to remember this will be a more complicated process than Miami powered vehicles.
With 6T powered cars you have different revisions of engine hardware configuration and different base brake packages.
I could be wrong but i'm seeing options rather than a kit.
So far the list of requests have been:
Utes catered for
Better handling
10 speed Auto
Paddle shifter
Stronger diff
Better Manual gearbox
Twin turbos
More Boost
I'm a bit conflicted.
In one sense, if I had a Sprint 6 I would not touch it, unless it came with more cosmetic upgrades.
If I had an F6 I would be tempted to have this brought up to Sprint 6 spec or similar but at what cost?
As an FG XR6T owner, there are many areas my car could benefit from some Premcar treatment i.e. brakes, suspension, wheels, more boost and larger intercooler etc. The problem is while this model would most likely benefit the most, the car is worth bugger all and sinking say $25k + into it is kind of crazy.
Quite possibly. That said, I would place a value on having a 'Premcar' enhanced car over what any local workshop would provide. For starters, it would be ADR and emissions compliant and designed holistically to work with all the other elements of the car. That is worth something more than a sum of optional parts. The problem is, I would be investing in a car that is not collectible and still depreciating in value. If I threw the kitchen sink at it and did wheels, brakes, suspension, rear end architecture, turbo, intercooler, mapping, head, intake, exhaust etc..that would cost $45k+ on a car that is worth around $15-20k now. I cant not see the car being worth even half that in years to come.
This makes me think an F6 or Sprint may in fact be a better base proposition.
