The Future of our Premier Motorsport series.

With the massive, albeit expected news of Holdens demise, what's the future for our premier Motorsport category?

The current Cars will run till the end of 2021, i'm very confident there will be no change till the end of next year despite the high likelihood Holden money will dry up this year.

T8 can limp on another year on their remaining Sponsors money.

Lets be honest here, the Ford and rest of the ZB teams live without Major Ford/Holden money, T8 can too.

2022 see's the introduction of Gen3 rules.

Is now the time to explore GT4 instead?

In my mind GT3 is just too expensive and "exotic". Its also plagued with parity complications.

GT4 though opens the door to a plethora of existing manufacturer based purpose built racers that would see significant shared savings as well as open the door to International races, Manufacturers, Drivers and Teams.

One thing is certain, Teams need to become self sufficient without needing Manufacturer money.

I think what needs to be found out by Supercars if they are the same people running it is :
What do their punters/tribal followers of the game here like to see ?
What is viable ?
Costs ?
What do the current teams wish for ?
etcetc.....

By the way I love GT4 - pics above are lovely but is it the way ?

Gt4 is the go. Liked what Ford did with the Stang in USA n it seems to have all the ingredients that would keep sc going here. I follow it on Twitter. I agree it's the next logical step n the right step to.

I like the looks of the GT4 cars and it would be easier for the like of Chaz to continue a relationship with BMW. The only issue I have is that SC's would fuck the category up. They can't manage a 2 make series at the moment. Imagine those muppets with multiple manufacturers? It would spell the end of any hope that a category like this could bring.

Right now there is this term market relevance. That’s needs to be defined and understood because it’s not worked thus far.

If supercars ceased tomorrow would the people paying for subscriptions or attending races live navigate to the current other forms of motoracing.

My suspicion is not in the volume you need.

I don’t think the media are 100% on the GM situation either but then it doesn’t matter if there is backlash from team read over Holden.

I have never seen Holden as anything other than a subsidiary of GM.

Word from the track world seems to suggest rule changes as quickly as next season
