Why Australia should go left-hand drive

Driving an LHD vehicle is not that hard, but if they also swap us to using the side road it's going to be absolute chaos initially I suspect.

Swapping sides of the road is unworkable IMO.

The death and serious injury toll let alone the cost of swapping signage, traffic lights, road markings and turning lanes would rival Covid.....

I think we had a thread or at least some comments around this before.

I think with the advancement of technology the barriers are less.

However I think this means you have left hand drive cars driving on right hand drive road network configurations.

It would take ages for right drive cars to disappear so on a volume metric you need to cater to that first and foremost.

New cars would need to have the best of driving aids fitted.

Let’s face it. When true autonomous cars get here, the issue surrounding which side the driver sits will be redundant.

Over time as left hand drive were to become the majority there could be opportunities to alter the raid network but boy what a nightmare.

In the end, this is something we might Not even have say in.

OR occur in my lifetime lol.......

Colville, agreed its not that hard BUT we can adapt whereas the majority will take a long long time to.
Koas is all I see, we allow people who cannot speak english pass driving tests in their language who drive for jack S anyway - does that make sense in the big picture.
Sydney roads are full of absolutely clueless drivers and they were given a pass ! what a system.
