try something new
Been a bit quiet in here lately. Has the death of falcon killed us here?
There's plenty going on in the ford world. But I want to share this YouTuber I watch. He's all about stangs n has some fast ones, he blew up a gt500 n took us on the journey of the rebuild. For me it's just good honest content that some of u might enjoy.
https://youtube.com/c/StangMode
Any watch a few n see what ya think.
I'm liking the new mach e, ford just posted that it'll come blue cruise for hands free highway driving.
I know it's not everyones cuppa but it's got my vote, probably won't call a Stang because I like mach E better. Certainly is the future. Ken block take on it good n he was surprised by the performance.
How's everyone about new sc season?

I think FB and Twitter have killed off traditional Forums, FB groups in particular.
I’m still here lol

Same, still check in daily

No local car is a loss no doubt about it.
No new release's etc to get you going and all.
I'll check out that link for interests sake thanks.
Not excited of anything Ford tbh, Mach E meh, Mach1 will look good but a rip off.
I somehow need to get excited bout the new Ranger but I'm not excited by these small engines and diesels.
I'm a diehard motorsport supporter but SC is giving me a slow death syndrome.
Prett sad tbh I don't have anything good to say lol.....
Forums are dieing from laziness my pov, people like to take the easy option always using other forms of meduims.
I like forum, wish people would log in and post more.

I've been trying to post more car-related content relative to what's happening in my own world or what I see out the Ford/automotive world.
However, engagement on these posts does seem low. Typically I'll get a 'thanks' or one-line responses. That tells me that while members appreciate the content it is not a subject matter that really interests them or they want to invest time in responding.
Then there is COVID or political topics on the forum. From my observation, this is what people seem most interested in discussing and at length. I've tried at times to participate but the truth is I'm just not that interested in reading and sharing my views on COVID or politically related topics in this environment.
For me personally, that is not what I come here for. Reading the views of others on such matters negatively affects my perceptions of them without the benefit of context. That said, I don't mind or care if others wish to share their views or experiences as long as it's not the only, or primary topic of conversation.
If anything, I come here to get away from these types of topics. As I'm a business owner, investor, and someone that works with Gov and politicians, there is no escaping COVID and politics is my average day. The forum, in the past, has served as a type of escapism. Now it's quieter I do tend to get more done but I do miss catching up with members on car and motorsport related topics in the evening or on the weekends.

I no longer have a Ford product although that was supposed to change a month ago.
I am busier than i ever have been, working on cars and FIFO but i am still perusing AFF for my own personal reasons.
I don't think i am a member on any facebook ford pages ?
Hope you guys are well...

I'm not really participating on any other Ford forums or page for that matter, I follow a few on fb
As far as sc goes I'm just about done with it, didn't watch Bathurst n it was on fta, something about starting the season there just didn't seem right. Sc has certainly turned a few of us off. I tend to follow teams more then the racing these days.
I think Ford are doing good things, sadly it's all states related. But I still follow. Bronco Release will be interesting n the v8 powered raptor to take on dodge.
I tend to spend more time involved in aftermarket builds. Watching carnage (street machine), stangmode n anything to do with resto's of 69 mustangs. Working with my father on his.
Trying to get into a position to buy a g6e, some nice ones kicking around. Probably should get a 4wd as all my mates have one.
Helping nephew improve his series 2 au xr6 ute, got his p's no long ago n has already had a few issues. All those hours behind the wheel getting his licence hasn't stopped a few mistakes, let them off leash and it's dangerous. We were all young once.
All Ford day in vic soon, if anyones going. Share ya experience n photos .

Only ford I own now spends all its time hiding under a cover in the garage.
Still slowly accumulating parts but have no real interest in working on it right now.
Aff is probably the only other forum i frequent now.
The time I used to spend on forums I spend on YouTube I think. Watch a video and then get caught up in the comment section arguing black is white or water is wet so some other pointless discussion.

I'm driving one and have another hidden under a tarp. Which I'm considering restoring but haven't decided how far the restoration will go n if it's even worth it. I know ef xr8 are bringing a few Bob n mine doesn't really need a lot to bring it back. Not sure how long the value will be there. I know it's a unique piece of Australian motoring history now that falcons are no long made anywhere. Some prime (like top quality examples) are for sale at 20k, 3k off of what I paid for mine. As it sits it's probably worth 6k.
Is there any value in putting dosh into it?
Will the market for them continue to grow or will it be crushed by governments and epa wanting to get rid of combustion engines? What happens then, club rego only and having to pay pollution tax etc, will they let us drive them when autonomous vehicles become main stream? Might think we are 10yrs away from that but it's probably closer then we think.
I don't know, what u guys think?

Theses days there are many other channels for distractions but I still think there is a place for forum communities such as this one. Especially when researching specific information from likeminded enthusiasts.
Yes to the EF XR8. It’s not going to start depreciating again. Club rego will only make it more valuable. Pollution tax if it finally comes in will target regular use vehicles more than historic IMO.
It’s a no brainer for me especially if it won’t take much to bring it back. If it needs a full resto it will depend on how much work you can do yourself.
The problem with modern classics is a lot of the materials, plastics and paints they used degrade from UV, and worse if left to gather dust and moisture. I’ve noticed things on my BA and FG and they both live in a fully lined, dry garage with sealed floors.
