2021 F1 Season......

Well might as well start this, better late than never as they say and why not from an Aussie perspective being after the seasons struggles to date DR finally came up front and centre of all places Monza !
As many know I'm a Red fan through and through and Aussie is Aussie when winning on a global stage is pretty epic.

Whilst its been the Max and spoilt brat show got to say it was good to see the Mclarens holding stations and running away with a 1/2 not since 2010 and last outright win was 2012.
Funnily its taken to back in MB power in doing so as per their earlier glory days.

What could have been had Max/Brat didn't take themselves BUT the Mac's did look good throughout.
Bottas did show flying pace mid to late race but then it like swtched off struggling to get by Perez and where he stayed till the end.

Many good tussles to mid pack and Monza just delivers fast laps and perils with those 2 tight chichanes that imo always ruin races.

IMO Brat should have given some room in avoiding Max and at the same time its mentioned Max should have driven through the chichane and let Brat have position exiting but thats motor racing, one needs to be smarter and 2 wrongs never make a right.

There's something I like about Zak Brown in F1, more of a straight shooter instead of the arrogant typical German dryness of Toto - Horner is a good pollie but comes across credible.

Bottas you just can't figure out, one moment he's driving like a weapon next he can't get more out of the best car in field, he started from rear of the grid, recovered to 4th by mid race and couldn't take it that next step.
Last race he backed off for Brat in getting the bonus point.
Like WTF goes through this guys head.

Dan drove like it was all under control, I was curious in hearing Lando's comment throught he radio can we pick up the pace, do I stay in position, Pit made the right call holding stations BUT I would have liked to have seen IF Dan had it all covered of his team mate OR that Lando had more to get by him, his advatage was having tyres 2 laps younger than Dans.
What might have been.

So the shoey celebration was done by Dan/Lando and Brown.
Why I said there is sonmething I like about this guy, what Boss stands on the podium and lets loose like that.

Pity my reds just didn't have the pace, nothing spectacular but they at least finished P4/6.

Good season so far when at the real F1 tracks and the Max/Brat contest is making for good viewing.

Was worth a watch, I really enjoyed

Thoughts on the Hamilton Max crash?

Max given 3 grid place penalty.

I'm we'll have varying opinions for and against.
Hindsight

Hamilton protected his line from the moment he exited the pit knowing Max was coming having seen Lando go through.
His right no doubt then you had Max at speed braking late into turn 1, approaching turn 2 imo he was too far behind to force through the move and the smart move was pull left go through the chicane yeild allowing LH passage get up behind his slip stream following through BUT the bull headedness was that he expected LH to back off and give him room whereas LH had the same bullheadedness not wanting to back off for it was his space.
IMO it should have been called a racing incident for BOTH could have avoided the clash but MV is pinged in fairness T2 MV was too far back.

I think if the Silverstone incident was a racing incident, so was this. A bit harsh on Max

I thought, big mistake I know, that max was mainly at fault but not a grid place penalty.

He was there but he wasn’t on the track at the same time. It’s one of these racing situations where max is really the only one who can pull out and because I don’t think he had control of his car at the time of impact, pulling back and getting a run with warmer tyres and pressures should have seen him pass Lewis.

But it’s not worth a grid penalty. If the rules allowed I would have fined him some money or suspended perhaps.

so pretty much how I saw it, if MV was smart he should have cut through chicane, as you said he on warmer tyres for one, slip stream he would have got by LH in quicktime.
Thats was the smart choice BUT when under the pump he thought otherwise I'm gonna F you and your going to let me in.

Racing incident and 3grid pen is wrong, I wonder how much Toto played the political card and LH being the victim.
The other point the hearing first off is driver and committee - MV comes across as he does you can expect some wouldn't like him, LH the reigning chump for so many years and his ways to express who do you think comes out on top, espcially when its such a 50/50 scenario.

Max was clearly pissed from the pit stop.
I think he gave up a chance to increase his lead but potentially didn't care about what happened.

I'm no Lewis fan but he was in front just not sure he left enough racing room, but the amount of kerb taken by Max to me risked damage to the floor. Wasn't the percentage play but I think wreckless with a fine not a grid

Damn, never expected that result in Brazil.
I have to pass on kudos to the Brat for the very first time.
Thankfully MV got P2 so he retains the high ground in the Championship.
Last races will be edgy for all.
Yay Ferrari getting on top of McLaren.

And so it all comes down to that last race.

Scores are level. So assuming they both finish whomever finishes ahead next Sunday in Abu Dhabi wins the championship. That's is assuming they both finish in the points.

In the event of both drivers finishing outside the points or both DNF (you know Verstakken ploughing into Hamilton attempting to overtake) Verstakken wins as he has won more races. 9 vs 8. So the co-drivers particularly Botas will need to play a role in protecting and assisting their No. 1's

If it sounds like I'm not a fan of Max you'd be right. Is Lewis my favorite driver, absolutely not. I would have loved to have seen Leclerc, Sainz, Albon, Alonso, Norris and of course our favourite Danny Ric vying for the champoinship. But alas that's not to be. So we are down to either Lewis or Max. And I don't think I've ever seen a petulant child than Max he's been stamping his feet and carrying on since he started. So i'll be on 44. And if he wins I hope next season he runs the No. 1 on his car.
