I think like many I am hoping they haven't screwed the looks of the S650 Mustang up.
Ford's language around this model is that the car is 'all new' using a totally new platform, but most of the reports suggest it's more of an evolution of the current FN model with the interior being the greatest departure and talk of a hybrid drivetrain. I am personally surprised to learn the 5.0 Coyote may get another run. I was under the impression further development of this motor and its heat-limiting attributes was all but tapped out.
The hybrid drive train peaks my interest if its V8 based. A V6TT would be cool too but not really my thing in the sound department. The FN noise was just so good that anything less other than complete silence (full EV) is not going to cut it for me.
As you mentioned Ian, Ford appears to have an appetite for sending their V8's out with style i.e. Raptor R.
The success of their electic division probably allows them some scope to continue with ICE without thr massive backlash such a move brings.
And I think it's important to note that S650 will see the first all electric coupe.
Its going to be interesting to see how that's received and how it sells compared to the V8.
Like you, Fords language surprised me with all new.
Its generally accepted that all we were getting is interior and sheet metal.
I hope Ford aren't this silly and trying to dress up their claims.
The option I'm interested in is the hybrid v8 but I think this version could be more wishful thinking.
I have thought about placing an order but if the hybrid v8 is an option I think I would wait for a bit to see what happens reliably wise.
But I do think this is a car I will own.
I intend it to be my first mustang.
Fingers crossed on the looks and content for our market.
Surely they don't sound like that clip
Latest unconfirmed rumours is no hybrid and no awd.
