Now this car caused a commotion on Twitter with some of the Uks leading journos asking if politicians had consulted with car makers prior to setting policy because this car here isn’t what was asked for.

2700kgs isn’t a great result and neither will the 300k price tag.

But imbedding I the article is a very good point especially pertaining to Ford claim that consumers will determine the fate of ICE.

What BMW have done here is allow this product to legally enter green zones through out European countries. I had forgotten that in some places it’s now illegal for ICE cars to enter. A twin turbo 2.7 tonne car can if it’s hybrid.

There really isn’t a thing as free consumer choice these days. In business, the options are loaded or skewed in such a way that pure merit is becoming obtuse.

You can legislate choice out of the market. You can make it so difficult that the theoretical choice isn’t a reality choice and that is where we are headed.

I’m not sure what BMW have done with their designers but hopefully this product doesn’t sell to save our eyes from the trauma but perhaps it highlights just how unworkable a hybrid mustang would be.

Weight is the enemy and no amount of wanting to save the planet will undo that.
