Its cricket season!
He isn't as good as he was before
He is older, he is slower
Top shot, but the ball would have got the boundary quicker 7 years ago
The hook shot is his downfall, and inform Ricky would have nailed that to move to 40
He just never looks comfortable, he is a just a delivery from getting out

I am with you Ian
The commentators problem is they backed themselves into a corner by calling for his head
Now he is scoring, they have to try and justiy their claims that Ricky was no good anymore
All I can say is "Stick it up them Ricky"

as you get older your reflexes, eyesight etc do wane a little so there is a bit of truth to some of the comments, but he still has plenty to offer the australian side in my opinion. i realise he has had a bit of a slump but it disgusted me a bit to read some of the stuff the experts had to say about one of the greatest cricketers to play the game (modern era). sure, he wasn't doing that well, but who was? the media have gone all quiet on the 'youth' front lately. i wonder why.
i could understand if he hung up the boots after this summer but i really hope he doesn't.

There is a lot of truth to the comments so much so that it's effectively stating the obvious for what appears no other reason than there must be a negative undertone in everything they say. Is Ricky sponsored by Ford. Certainly sounds like it at times.
I have seen three days of test cricket this year and hand on heart can honestly say no one is working harder and wants it more than Ricky. His prep before the game is head and shoulders above the rest.
Great bit of commentary on grandstand about this tonight actually.

The thing too Andrew is like you I have watched Ricky play for many season. The same mistakes, the mistiming has always been there but now it's for a different reason. Sometimes it really does sound like the comments were to justify that previous position. There really isnt any confidence about our batting so the WI tour will be interesting.

I'm always in two minds about Pon-Ting. I'm a member of the Cronulla Golf Club (as is he), however whenever anyone approaches him in the clubhouse, he either ignores them, or asks them very politely if they enjoy sex and travel. Having received end of this treatment very recently, my opinion of him has been galvanised.
I was cheering for Australia when he made his ton, and double ton, but I also cheered when he got out. I was also quite happy when he resigned as Captain.

If I had that sort of experience I don't think I would be of two minds

Sometimes I can see their point
people never leave them alone
I remeber years ago coming back from Melbourne
David Boon was on the the other side of the Aisle to me, the guy next to him ordered 2 beers and then put one in fron of Boon
He basically also told to go enjoy travel and sex
Yeah no need I guess, but for gods sake surely they are also allowed some privacy when they are just doing something to relax etc
I know Ricky has always been know for being arogant, but then again, so am I

And don't forget Ambrose. Many people say the same thing about him. Actually i am seeing a pattern. Pointing, Boon, Ambrose, Andrew.
