I know you can't get E-Series ones any more - my EF just got resprayed, and they offered to replace the front bar for $500 extra. They couldn't get one, so they patched and repaired the one I had. Rear bars are far easier.
The AU ones were plastic new, right?
Yeah plastic and I have a series 2 on my car. Going to look for a spare one now actually. I am just a trip to work from wiping it out.

ut you can almost buy a comleate T3 for the cost of a new front and rear bar

That is something I have worried about, as the AU XR nose cone is very unique, I had the missfortunes of someone reversing into mine late last yr, fortunately not a great deal of damage as it was a low speed incident, no crack's but I have often pondered about the difficulties of finding one if I had to.
N.O.S ones will exist, its just a matter of finding one. Or a second hand one from a wreckers. I know where there are quite a few lying around, ex prototyping/excess production bars that would scrub up fine...Quote:
