The name change to Fusion is a must.

This generation of Mondeo should have been called Fusion from the start. The Mondeo name brings back the Mondeo we had in the 90's to replace the Taurus, which were fairly shite.
I am thinking that whilst we get Mondeo ex-Spain, it will be called Mondeo. There is no point changing the name to Fusion for the couple of hundred cars a month the assemble for us.
I don't believe Marketing are hearing the popular message on anything to be frank....

Bobbi shared a story of how we were Audi shopping but when she sat in the Mondeo Titanium her first impression was it was a much nicer to be. She then mentioned that the Name was off putting and devalued the cars image. At least with Fusion its more emotive and somewhat futuristic without sounding prestige (expensive).
At the time I felt a bit for the guy but I'm glad we meet him. He remained open and accepting to her feedback, and he was at the event mixing it with buyers and enthusiasts. That's a good step in the right direction when gaining market reaction and sentiment.
Problem is Ford has pushed the Mondeo brand to corporate. They dont care about private buyers on Mondeo as that category is a dieing trend.
Mondeo wagon is where it is at for Ford. Fusion doesn't come in wagon or hatch, its sedan only which we don't even get in Aus.
Perhaps if they were smart they could bring Fusion sedan and market it separate to Mondeo?
