In the last race of the utes today it was a battle between the FG 5.0 and the BF 5.4., the FG won.
Commentator was saying Ford's advantage was in the chassis (I always thought leaf springs were better than IRS lol), and nothing to do with new 5.0. That was in reply to the other commentator who asked "what do these Holdens need, a BIGGER motor, or better tyres?".
Listening to the incar footage from the No9 FG the new Coyote sounds pretty good.

Five Fords up front. The Brutes are a parity class. So I would expect some sort of power adjustment. The Coyote 5.0 FG easily outpowered the 6.0 VE. I don't know what has been so far in the development but wow. Just wow.
PS I think the handling improvement comes down to the 45kg lighter engine and siting lower in the bay too. Major gain. Paul Morris who was the guest commentator and now part of a 4 car DJR supercar team was the one downplaying the engine power btw.
Thanks Phil, I was wondering who that was. Still don't like him.
Morris is correct, you will find its a handling advantage not so much a power advantage the FG has now, they control the output of the engines, the lighter 5.0 will allow more corner speed and more corner speed equates to more straight line speed which "looks" like the car has more power.
