Ranger Raptor

Provided the pricing isn't north of 100k, then when my Wildtrak is up, i will replace with a Raptor.

I went the Wildtrak as it was the closest I could get to my F6 ute in spec wise whilst still retaining the ute ability. I haven't regretted it one bit, it shits all over the F6 in its load performance and stability whilst towing, it is nice to be able to just drive and not worry about car parks or going in and out of driveways etc. However, I do miss the 310kw to be able to overtake more than 1 car at a time!

The Wildtrak just needs to be stepped up a little with some more 'sportier' parts and I hope this is what the raptor does. Frankly I don't care for fuel economy, I would like performance and handling, I know this doesn't sit well with people being that its a 4X4, but you can make them handle and go. I have looked at Tickford, but i'm just not there with the modifications on the company car.

I guess we will wait and see what 2018 brings us. I like that it appears to be associated with FP, just like the RS. This does mean a lot, its factory sanctioned. The only thing that will turn me off is if it is designed for a pure off roader and is dirt and bush orientated. Im happy with the Wildtrak in being able to carry 5 people, a ute full of gear and tow the racecar, its made out life so much easier for the track. Before we were taking 2 cars to each round. F6 for towing and then another one for the passengers.

Sounds like an F150 Raptor would do the trick actually. I have contact details of an importer if you then them! The cost is north of $100k however ..

Spot on Tim.
Pretty much my take on dual cabs and they are farfar better than 2door utes of the past.
So practical the trade off is the ol 2wd performance but you adapt.
I was never one to like them either for so many years - thought what for yaddayadda.
Since jumping in I enjoy it just as you say, ride over anything without a worry, load up, 5 people, gear in the back it just makes sense.
Agree, if this thing gets to $100k excl add ons then its going OTT, might as well go JEEP of something to that figure in that case.

I like the look of the F150, but the Ranger is big enough around town, the F150 looks massive compared to it.

What ever they release, I hope it sells fantastically and the demand keeps up.

Around Melbourne at least a F150 would be totally impratical.

You'd have to treat it as a truck from a clearance and parking perspective.

Our city surburban streets/cities carparks etc are made to suit our needs of the past - F150 is too large.
Suits the yanks, they grew up with large cars/pick ups.
Those conversions are rip offs just as Mustang was/is imo or any other left hand drive change over.
Also it irks me what those vehicles are worth US$ - cheap whereas once here converted they are not worth it.
Current Dual cab size is on the limits as it is - I used a old building wilson carpark just the other week, having a 2" lift I was on the height limit and just making the turning circles it was that tight - F150 you wouldn't even attempt it.
Just bring on a decent Ranger Raptor.

* in saying that re the F150 Raptor, whilst in china the other week I looked over a beautiful metallic blue one with Fox shocks fitted.

If this is true (and let's face it, this is Drive we're talking about so there is a 50% chance it isn't) then I can foresee a few deposits being given back - people want cubes with their diesels, VW had to learn the hard way and finally relented and brought a V6 to the Amarok, now Ford thinks a high-end off road vehicle with a strong competition bent to it, will suffice with a 2.0 4 cylinder?
