What impressed me was the small size of the motors, I was imagining something a lot bigger,
Maybe that’s where Ford Performance comes in with 1,000 HP upgrade?

Question; How are the OE's planning on dealing with products for P platers and the blistering acceleration performance all of these EV's seem to have?
I know at present they're mostly too expensive, but surely the plan is for entry level products too?
Seems any major sports car brand is rolling out their first sports SUV https://www.whichcar.com.au/car-news...n-dbx-revealed

Low percentage of the market and legislation takes years to catch up to the market, you're only on P plates for 4 years also.
Until EVs are sub $30K it's not a problem, mind you with how much everyone throws finance at everyone these days it's probably likely there's be kids out there who could throw more than $30K on wheels I spent $18K on my first car 9 months before I even had a license, I've never financed anything though.
I'd say there's no plan but then again it seems the motorcycle industry caters for our LAMS regulations for L and P platers on two wheels and they hold their value well, but motorcyclists tend to be older people.
I don't think the automakers really cater towards young people anyway, they don't appear to brand build targeting their future potential customers, also Millennials and Gen Z generally have zero interest in cars, Generation Alpha we've got a good 10-15 years before they come of age.
It varies from state to state, in Vic looking at Tesla only, the base one's are OK but the mid and high end stuff is banned. that's across S X and 3 like Model X 60 & 75 are OK 85,90 & 100 are a No. Same On model 3 Std is OK, AWD and Performace No. NSW is the hardest, and Tas, SA, NT & WA approve them all.
Edit: Leaf & Kona seem ok too.
But It seems they're looking at it case by case like normal cars.
I’d daily the shizzle out of that cybertruck... it’s like a giant “up yours!” to the entire anti Tesla rhetoric that’s out there.
