Building a Fairy with Muscle...

Hey Guys,

Some may know of my Build, some might not!

Basically I bought the car off a Family member, who has owned it since brand new!

She was originally a VCT Powered S1.5 Fairlane Ghia.
It didn't stay stock for long, as I outfitted it with a stereo system and some other bits but I have always wanted to have a V8 Ford..
So after driving it as a 6Cylinder for a few years, I bit the bullet and started getting a V8 for it,
I sourced all the bits for the conversion then took a long weekend to perform the conversion!

Upgraded the Brakes to a T1 master Cylinder, BF XR8 322mm Front Brakes and BA 303mm Rear Brakes.

The 5.0 was Basically a Stock Series 1 XR8 Bottom end with Ported GT40Ps, Custom Comp Cam and Trickflow Track Heat Manifold.














Then I decided to get some new wheels for the ol' gal.










Was having some fun cruising the car around and scaring some HSV owners until one night there was a wobble from the front end on the way home from work then a loud grinding noise..

After some weeks of searching I found a T1 Cluster...








Also Got my Hands on an ESS Transmission!






I Started getting a squeaking noise from the Cam Sync, then it turned into a Loud Screeching noise a couple of days before my replacement arrived.
After talking to my engine builder, it looks like the oil pump has been skipping with in the Cam Sync..



Compare that to the base of the New one!

After I fixed the Sync Issue,

I upgraded the ignition system..






and installed an upgraded Security system!



Then an Upgraded Intake - Lightning MAF 90mm and 3.5" Pipe




I Swapped out my Dash and some other spears with ones from Andrew (Ride)











Installed my Oil Cooler!

Got my New Convertor...

Slingshot 3000RPM 9.5" Unit..




Then after some Discussions with Andrew and a good look at my bank accounts,
I decided to build myself a Stroker!






Anyway, as some of the previous pics, the bores look rusty...
Andrew was kind enough to wipe them down with WD40 to remove most of the rust,
This is how they turned out after a wipe!

ARP Head Studs



Trickflow BOX-R










Genuine T3 Piston Rings and ARP Rocker Studs



and Thanks to Jeff T3Man I upgraded my Suspension to TS50 Springs and Koni Shocks





and a Nice little parts Drop to the Engine Builder..



Then Last Saturday, I went to the Builder this week to check on the progress!
