Bullshit. Price is a part of this equation.

The market has spoken already about the relative values and I'm sorry Hulk old mate you are wrong.

While normal XR8's are a fine fine car, they are falling into discount / run out mode. Whereas the Sprint, it's younger fitter brother is effectively sold out at full whack retail plus some.

I think this shows yet again people will pay for something special or extra. And Sprint ticks that box.

    is it sold out?

everybody sees value differently. whats right or wrong for one person doesn't mean its right or wrong for the next.

some won't see the value, whereas others will think the value is worth way more than the extra cost. its hardly worth arguing over. its like looks. very subjective.

this isn't directed at you Tony (or anyone in particular), i was just quoting you regarding the 'sold out' part.

We will soon find out Rob when the dealers get their allocations. I know of a number who have taken deposits well beyond what they'll end up getting cars to fill.

1400 might sound like a lot but there's 220 ish dealers to supply...

Some will be lucky to get one of each.

What Norm means by this isn't the place to be discussing value is this.

This is the official thread to discuss the official announcements. When one is told you haven't seen the full scale of said release, I can't see how anyone can form such an opinion.

We might create a dedicated sprint subsection for specific threads or topics but rather than jump the gun on value, would it not be best to wait till the entire car is announced?

Bricktop has alluded to there being more. How many times are we going to make the same mistakes with commentary on assumptions or only part of the story.

It is not possible to work out value just yet. Lets table this part of the conversation to save embarrassment for ourselves please.

Dealers I spoke to seem to think so. They are either holding deposits on their full allocations or expect to be shortly. One is holding 18 deposits with an allocation of 8 cars. That's 6's + 8's. And sadly GTF style price gouging is beginning. It annoys me because these are the same guys that seem uninterested in sell me a GT 5 years ago when it mattered. But Ford dealers in the main are a special breed of indifferent.

    So is there a n/a sprint 6?

And if demand is outstripping supply already, does ford have any capability to up supply at all? Like they did with xr8, or is it simply too late in the closing down process to manage it?

As it's a closure, the capacity to increase is just not there and even if it were its very rare once build numbers are released they get altered. Those lucky enough to have one tend to not want others to have one on the basis it devalues what they have.

Yeah I know but a select few manual GTF owners had this attitude and it would amaze you how many share that sentiment.

How can dealers know their allocation? Mine doesn't, and says he won't until official release papers from Ford come across his desk which still hadn't happened at least up until Friday afternoon. Maybe something has gone to the dealers over the weekend?
