Wiring 4-pin BA radiator fan assy to BF 3-pin connector
Hi there,
I am not a fully technical person and also not very familiar with the jargon so will try to explain in simple words:
My Falcon BF had an unpleasant meeting with small kangaroo and damaged the radiator, air condenser and fan assembly.
I have got all required parts but for some reason decided to buy BA double fan assembly as I thought it will be more effective for cooling.
The problem here is:
Original fan has got 3-pin connector while new fan assy has got 4 pin one.
out of 3 wires of the old fan I deducted:
1 black (from the battery)
2 reds (1st, 2nd fan speeds)
out of 4 wires I assume:
2 blacks (from the battery feed)
2 reds (engage 1 or 2 fans)
I am contemplating of forking 1 original black wire into 2 black ones and connect it as below:
1 black to 2 blacks
2 reds to 2 reds
Will there be an issue with fuses on using this custom wiring?
Any other thoughts, ideas are appreciated.
Thanks
Max

Pretty sure there is an extra relay for the second fan (thats controlled by the ECU btw).
If you don't have a schematic and aren't sure what your doing then get someone who does.
