Recommend a trans specialist - Bunbury WA

Hi guys,

My brother has a bf2 with a 4sp thats about to die. its the 2nd gearbox, which was purchases as a low km unit (supposedly) but is now in need of repair or replacement in the next few weeks/months.

Can any WA members help out with some trans specialists? Travelling to Perth isn't a problem if it means going to a decent place. Likewise if it means heading further south. Apparently there are 2 places he knows of in Bunbury and one of them did the replacement trans last time and he's not keen on going back there. both places wanted close to $3k for a rebuild. 2nd hand replacement cost $1k last time.

Rest of the car is in really good condition, even though it has 240k on the clock. trading in on something else isn't an option. options are repair or replace with 2nd hand unit.

OK, from what the guys at work say, Coventry's is your best bet, they sell Reman Transmissions for around $600, all the guys at work reckon to ditch the Factory transmission cooler, & install an aftermarket item.
No more milkshakes as transmission oil!!!

S&G Transmission in Cannington sorted my XW's trans, they were a good crew and I'd recommend them.
