Ford Sold More Mustangs Than Porsche Sold 911s In Germany Last Month

Last month Ford's sixth-generation Mustang outsold both the Porsche 911 and the Audi TT in Germany

It turns out German car buyers dig the new Ford Mustang. Really dig it, in fact. According to Autoblog, last month Ford shifted 780 of the things in the country, beating both the Porsche 911 (752 units) and the Audi TT (708 units) on home turf.

It’s not like the Mustang is a cheaper car than the TT in Germany either - as Autoblog points out, the starting price for the Ecoboost Mustang is actually higher than the cheapest TT. And as a bonus, the muscle car also beat the Boxster and Cayman last month, with Porsche selling a combined 642 units.

So, given the choice, what would you have: an Audi TT, a Porsche Cayman/Boxster, or a Ford Mustang?

    Excellent result but hardly surprising.

The world over there's pent up demand for Mustang.

At the risk of being howled down again that initial flurry will ease off though and pull back to what will be its ongoing volume it .

Does seem to be a few disgruntled owners already.

    Build quality is lacking...

Falcon is far superior from my experience. I guess it helps with you only build 68 a day.

I found the Mustang I drove for 2 weeks to be very well built.

I think its a hit and a miss from all reports... I know a number of cars that have had to have paint repairs done prior to delivery, most of which was not caused by shipment, but defects from the factory.

I could post some pictures but I wont, its pretty disappointing. Simple things like the bonnet latch adjustment are things that should be QA'ed prior to leaving the factory, and should have been looked at here again when the cars were QA'ed at Prixcar.

The car I drove with 7000 kms on it had lots of rattles and squeaks.

Falcons are far more consistent as far as issues, they really fixed the paint treatment from FG onwards.

Hmm, well they will have to get their act together or should it get a bad rep like the exploder etc. it will suffer a lot.

Trust me, there is genuine concern around.
